AND SO I'LL START WITH THE THE PURPLE DOCUMENT AND JUST DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE FAR RIGHT AND YOU SEE 2021 ACTUAL. SO THE GREEN NUMBERS WILL SHOW YOU WHAT OUR ACTUAL RESULTS ARE. I'LL GO SECTION BY SECTION, SO I'LL START WITH SECTION ONE, WHICH REALLY LOOKS AT GOAL ONE AND THE KPIS. THE WE HAD ONE AREA WHERE THE SUPERINTENDENT DID SCORE POINTS AND THAT WOULD BE KPI 1.2. AND IT'S SIMPLY SAYING THAT OUR STUDENTS OUTSCORED THE THE STATE FOR OUR OUR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS. SO THE STATE WAS AT 29 PERCENT. OUR STUDENTS WERE AT 30 PERCENT. YOU CAN SEE THAT WE ARE AT CLEARLY SUPERIOR FOR THAT PARTICULAR KPI. YOU CAN SEE THERE'S ONE AREA WHERE THE SUPERINTENDENT SCORED POINTS AND THAT'S KPI 2.1, AND IT'S REGARDING THE CLASS ASSESSMENT. YOU CAN SEE WE ARE AT 79.7 PERCENT, AND SO THAT WAS A SIGNIFICANT GAIN. LAST YEAR, WE WERE AT 58.6. IF I GO TO THE THIRD SECTION, WHICH IS ALSO EARLY LEARNING, LOOKING AT MATH OR NUMERACY READINESS FOR 3RD GRADE, THERE ARE TWO AREAS WHERE THE SUPERINTENDENT SCORED POINTS AND THAT IS THE ACTUAL GOAL. THIRD GRADE OR THIRD GRADE MATHEMATICS. AND YOU CAN SEE WE WERE AT 25.3 PERCENT, WHICH GIVES US SOMEWHAT SATISFACTORY. KPI 3.1 IS ALSO ON THE CLASS ASSESSMENT, BUT IT'S LOOKING AT MATHEMATICS AND THERE WERE SIGNIFICANT GAINS THERE FROM 51.4 PERCENT TO 70.9 PERCENT. I'M GOING TO GO DOWN TO GOAL FOUR AND YOU CAN SEE THE GOAL AS WELL AS THE KPI. ALL OF THOSE WERE CLEARLY SUPERIOR. AND YOU CAN SEE THE POINTS AGAIN OVER IN THE FAR RIGHT COLUMN. IF I GO TO SECTION FIVE OR GOAL FIVE, WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY POINTS IN ANY OF THOSE CATEGORIES. GOING DOWN TO THE FINANCIALS. YOU CAN SEE THAT WE WERE CLEARLY SUPERIOR FOR AUDIT FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND GENERAL FUND SURPLUS. FIRST, WE WERE AT SATISFACTORY, FULLY SATISFACTORY. THE NEXT SECTION LOOKS AT THE CONSTRAINTS THAT COME OUT OF OUR A.E. POLICY. WE'RE WANTING OUR STAFF TO SEE THAT THE DISTRICT IS HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND YOU CAN SEE WE OUR SCORE WAS 28.3 PERCENT, WHICH IS CLEARLY SUPERIOR. AND IF I JUST REMIND US THAT THE CONSTRAINTS, THE LOWER THE NUMBER, THE MORE IMPROVED THE PERFORMANCE. WE ALSO WANT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT OUR STUDENT EXPERIENCE IS, AND WE CAN SEE THAT FROM THE STUDENT PERSPECTIVE, WE LANDED AT 25 PERCENT. AND WE LOOK AT THEORY OF ACTION BECAUSE WE WANT OUR PRINCIPALS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE THEORY OF ACTION IS AND TO FEEL THAT THEY HAVE EARNED AUTONOMY. AND WE LANDED AT 13.6 PERCENT AND THAT'S OUR BASELINE. THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME USING THE THEORY OF ACTION CONSTRAINT. THE LAST SECTION IS STAKEHOLDER SATISFACTION AND WE HAVE OUR OVERALL CUSTOMER SERVICE SCORE. WE CAME BACK AT A SCALE OF 1 TO 10. WE WERE AT AN 8. WE LOOK AT OUR PARENTS AND WE HAVE AN OUTSIDE ORGANIZATION WHO SURVEYS OUR PARENTS. WE CAME BACK AT 85.9 PERCENT AND THEN OUR TAXPAYERS, WE HAD A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE FROM 51 PERCENT TO 63 PERCENT. AND THE LAST SECTION WOULD BE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES EVALUATING THE SUPERINTENDENT. SO WITH THAT, I HAVE OUR TEAM HERE IN THE EVENT THAT THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THOSE RESULTS. TRUSTEE MICCICHE. THANK YOU, MR. PRESIDENT. JUST TO JUST A FEW COMMENTS. I THINK THIS IS A REMARKABLE PERFORMANCE IN TERMS OF SOME OF THESE METRICS THAT WE REALLY DO NEED TO HIGHLIGHT. AND WE HAVE A LOT OF METRICS ON HERE. BUT ONE THAT REALLY STANDS OUT TO ME AS BEING BEING EXTREMELY SIGNIFICANT IS THE KPI 1 .2, AND HOW WELL WE ARE DOING IN TERMS OF EDUCATING OUR KIDS WHO ARE GROWING UP IN POVERTY COMPARED TO WHAT HOW WELL THE STATE IS DOING. THAT IS AN EXTREMELY BIG GAP IN OUR FAVOR AND I THINK SHOWS SHOWS REAL COMMITMENT BY THE SUPERINTENDENT AND BY THE ENTIRE DISTRICT. AND I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE CALLED THAT OUT. AND THEN THE LAST POINT ON STAKEHOLDERS SATISFACTION THAT THAT YOU MENTIONED [00:10:04] WHEN I FIRST GOT ON THE BOARD, IN FACT, EVEN GOING BACK TO TWENTY SEVENTEEN TWENTY EIGHTEEN WHEN STAKEHOLDER SATISFACTION WAS JUST UNDER 40 PERCENT AND NOW WE'RE SEEING COMMUNITY SUPPORT AT 63 PERCENT AND OF COURSE, PARENTS SATISFACTION MUCH, MUCH, MUCH HIGHER. BUT THAT'S 63 PERCENT. COMING FROM THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE IS SOMETHING THAT YOU COULD ONLY HAVE WISHED FOR A FEW YEARS AGO. AND I'LL JUST SAY THAT THE TEAM ADMINISTRATION WORKED WITH OUR SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION COMMITTEE, WHICH WAS COMPRISED. OUR CHAIR WAS TRUSTEE FLORES. WE ALSO HAD TRUSTEE CARREÓN AND WE HAD TRUSTEE HENRY. WE MET THREE TIMES IN THE FALL TO DEVELOP THE TARGETS FOR THE 21-22 SCHOOL YEAR FOR THE SUPERINTENDENT'S APPRAISAL. SO WE'RE BRINGING THESE NUMBERS AS A RECOMMENDATION, BUT OF COURSE, WOULD LIKE TO HAVE CONVERSATION WITH THE FULL BOARD. SO THE GOALS AND THE KPIS HAVE NOT CHANGED. THEY'RE THE SAME AS WHAT WE JUST REVIEWED. WHAT HAS CHANGED ARE THE TARGETS. AND SO I'LL START WITH THE GOALS, USUALLY FOUR GOALS. WE MIRROR THE FULLY SATISFACTORY COLUMN WITH WHATEVER THE STUDENT OUTCOME GOAL TARGET IS . BECAUSE WE'VE HAD SUCH A DIFFERENT YEAR LAST YEAR WITH THE PANDEMIC, ACTUALLY OVER THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF, WE DID MOVE THE THE TARGET FOR 21-22 TO THE CLEARLY SUPERIOR COLUMN. SO IF WE START WITH THE FIRST GOAL, YOU'LL SEE THAT THE RESULTS WERE 36 FOR DOMAIN 1 FOR THE 2021 SCHOOL YEAR. WHAT WE'RE PROPOSING IS ANYTHING UNDER 38 WOULD BE UNSATISFACTORY. 38 WOULD BE SOMEWHAT SATISFACTORY, FULLY SATISFACTORY WOULD BE 40 PERCENT AND THEN CLEARLY SUPERIOR WOULD BE 51. AND THAT 51 IS THE TARGET FOR THIS YEAR'S STUDENT OUTCOME GOAL. KPI 1.1 AND 1.2, YOU CAN SEE WE WERE WE FELL 10 POINTS LAST YEAR FOR THIS PARTICULAR KPI. [00:15:07] WE'RE AT 34 PERCENT. WE'VE DWINDLED IT DOWN TO REALLY UNDERSTAND THAT PART OF THE THE REASON FOR THE INCREASE IN PERFORMANCE COULD BE THAT THE OBSERVATIONS WERE A LITTLE MORE TARGETED THAN A YEAR PRIOR BECAUSE WE HAD THE VARIED INSTRUCTIONAL FORMATS. SO WE HAD THE OBSERVERS ACTUALLY GO IN AND DO VIRTUAL OBSERVATIONS AS WELL AS CLASSROOM OBSERVATIONS. AND SO FOR THE VIRTUAL OBSERVATIONS, YOU KNOW, THE ONLY PORTION THAT COULD BE SEEN WOULD BE WHAT WOULD BE ON THE SCREEN. AND THE OTHER PART THAT COULD HAVE HELPED WITH THAT WOULD BE THE SMALLER CLASS SIZES THAT WERE OBVIOUS FOR LAST SCHOOL YEAR. ARE YOU IMPLYING BASED ON THAT LINE OF RESPONSE THAT WE ANTICIPATE IN REALITY OUR SCORE TO GO DOWN? WHAT I AM SAYING, SIR, IS THAT WE ARE DOING EVERYTHING THAT WE CAN TO MAINTAIN AND SUSTAIN PERFORMANCE. IF YOU LOOK BACK AT OUR HISTORY OF CLASS, WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO, YOU KNOW, MAKE GAINS EACH YEAR. SO WE DO ANTICIPATE TO STILL BE ON THE SAME TRAJECTORY. HOWEVER, WE COULD DECREASE THIS THIS YEAR RELATIVE TO THE JUMP THAT WE SAW THIS LAST YEAR. OK. AND SO THAT'S ONE EXAMPLE, BUT ALSO, OF COURSE, OUR P-TECH AND EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAMS WHERE OUR STUDENTS ARE EARNING CREDITS. IF WE LOOK AT THE CAREER INSTITUTES, WE DON'T HAVE SENIORS YET IN THE CAREER INSTITUTES, BUT OUR HIGH SCHOOLS HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB AND REALLY MAKING SURE THAT STUDENTS ARE TAKING THE CERTIFICATION EXAMS AND PARTICULARLY OUR SENIORS, SO THAT ALONG THE WAY THEY'RE EARNING THESE CERTIFICATIONS IN THE COURSEWORK THAT OFFER CERTIFICATION EXAMS. SO WE'VE MADE SIGNIFICANT, SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS. AND THE OTHER THING I WOULD ADD IS THE STATE HAD 77. I THINK IT WAS 77 CERTIFICATIONS AND THEN THEY EXPANDED THAT TO 244. SO WE AS A DISTRICT ALSO, YOU KNOW, PIVOTED A LITTLE BIT AND WE'VE MADE SURE THAT WE OFFER STUDENTS OPPORTUNITIES TO EARN CERTIFICATIONS IN AREAS THAT WEREN'T PREVIOUSLY OPPORTUNITIES TO BE EARNED SO THAT WE DID MAKE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN THAT FRONT. OK, AND HOW MANY OF THESE KPIS FALL WITHIN DOMAIN 1 THAT'S UNDER THE INCENTIVE OR WHICH OF [00:30:01] THESE KPIS ARE ALIGNED TO THAT TO THAT DOMAIN 1? THEY'RE ALL GOING TO, THEY'RE ALL GOING TO IMPACT COLLEGE CAREER READINESS OBVIOUSLY IS LISTED, BUT STUDENTS EARNING, FOR EXAMPLE, IF STUDENTS EARN THREE HOURS IN READING OR MATH IN DUAL CREDIT, THAT'S GOING TO TRIGGER ACCOUNTABILITY. IF STUDENTS EARN NINE HOURS DUAL CREDIT AND ANYTHING THAT'S OUTSIDE OF READING OR MATH, THAT'S GOING TO TRIGGER ACCOUNTABILITY. SO THOSE ARE TWO EXAMPLES IF THEY EARN A CERTIFICATION THAT'S GOING TO TRIGGER ACCOUNTABILITY, IF THEY GET A THREE OR GREATER AP, IF THEY GET FOUR OR HIGHER ON IB EXAMS, IF THEY ARE COLLEGE READY, PER THE ASSESSMENTS, TSIA SAT OR ACT IN COMBINATION THAT WILL ALSO TRIGGER ACCOUNTABILITY. SO I THINK WE AS A DISTRICT HAVE MADE MUCH PROGRESS MOVING TOWARDS ENSURING THAT ALL OF OUR STUDENTS ARE MOVING TOWARDS LEAVING OUR DOORS, IF YOU WILL, WITH A CREDENTIAL AND OPPORTUNITY FORWARD THAT'S GOING TO LEAD TO A STRONG LIVING WAGE OPPORTUNITY OR COLLEGE.
