THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR COMING OUT TO SUPPORT THIS GREAT OCCASION.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEND ANOTHER BIG THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO ATTENDED THE FRANKLIN D ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL OF INNOVATION DEDICATION CEREMONY.

THE THREE YEAR RENOVATION PROCESS PROVIDING NECESSARY UPGRADES TO THE BUILDING, INCLUDING STATE OF THE ART, ATHLETIC FACILITIES, FINE ARTS TRADITIONS, AND MULTIPLE CAREER FOCUSED CLASSROOMS FOR STEM SLASH TEAMS, STEAM EMT CLASSES AND MORE.

IT WAS A GREAT DAY FOR THIS FINE.

LAST SATURDAY, THE ALL KIDS MATTER FOUNDATION AND I WERE ABLE TO BRING BACK THE ANNUAL SHAKE DALLAS EVENT.

THESE GROUPS HELPED GUIDE OUR YOUTH IN DEVELOPING NECESSARY SKILLS TO NAVIGATE THROUGH LIFE.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SHOWED UP AND MADE THIS EVENT SUCCESSFUL.

ALSO WANT TO THANK OUR MAYOR FOR COMING AND BEING OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER.

GREAT THINGS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN IN DISTRICT FIVE.

FINALLY, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STAFF AND STUDENTS FOR THEIR HARD WORK TO HELP EARN A B RATING FOR THE DISTRICT.

[00:10:01]

ON THE STATE ASSESSMENTS THERE STILL WORK TO DO, BUT WE KNOW THAT IT CAN BE DONE.

SO I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO MAKE THIS THIS A GREAT YEAR OF ACADEMIC SUCCESS.

AND THIS IS YOUR DISTRICT FIVE ACCOLADES.

THANK YOU.

OKAY. SO I'M NOT GOING TO WAIT ANY LONGER.

I'M JUST A NERVOUS PERSON, AND I CAN'T.

JUST.

SO THIS SHIRT SAYS ACCOUNTABILITY.

SO LET ME JUST SAY THIS REAL QUICKLY, SINCE THAT DIDN'T WORK.

I WANT YOU TO EXCUSE MY JOY IN RECOGNIZING THAT THERE ARE NO SCHOOLS IN DISTRICT SIX SOUTH WEST OAK CLIFF THAT ARE BELOW A C IN THE CURRENT ACCOUNTABILITY RATING FROM THE STATE.

THIS IS NOT TO DEMEAN ANY OF THE OTHER TRUSTEES, BUT TO MAKE SURE I RECOGNIZE AND BRAG ON THE FINE DISTRICT SIX EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS, PRINCIPALS, STUDENTS AND OTHER STAFF.

FOR MANY YEARS, I HAVE ENVISIONED A SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT HAD A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF EQUITY AND WHAT THE RESULTS WOULD BE WHEN WE MOVE IN THAT DIRECTION.

ALL OF US CAN CELEBRATE THE FACT THAT SCHOOLS THAT WERE NOT EXPECTED TO HAVE SUCH A TREMENDOUS OUTCOME WERE ABLE TO DO IT.

THESE ARE SOUTHERN SECTOR SCHOOLS THAT SHOW THE DREAM CAN BE REALIZED.

WHILE I RECOGNIZE THAT THERE IS STILL MUCH WORK TO BE DONE, I ALSO KNOW THAT OUT OF 24 SCHOOLS IN DISTRICT SIX, THERE WAS ONE A 16 B'S AND EIGHT C'S.

AS THE TRUSTEE FOR DISTRICT SIX, I'VE MADE SOME BOLD STATEMENTS ABOUT EDUCATION, TAKING SOME STEPS THAT WERE NOT APPRECIATED BY ALL.

BUT I HAVE A VISION FOR DALLAS ISD THAT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED BY THE SCHOOLS AND DISTRICT SIX AND IN MANY CASES BY THE ADMINISTRATION.

WHEN I PUSH HARD FOR EQUITY, FIGHT AGAINST POLICIES THAT I DO NOT THINK WILL HELP THE DISTRICT AND QUESTION THE RESOURCES FOR OUR HIGH PRIORITY CAMPUSES, ALONG WITH OTHER INITIATIVES THAT I THINK NEED MORE CLARIFICATION.

THE PERCEPTION IS THAT I'M JUST ASKING QUESTIONS.

I'VE BEEN GETTING PAID.

BUT THE DISTRICT SIX SCHOOL LEADERSHIP KNOWS WHERE I'M COMING FROM, AND TOGETHER WE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

[00:15:07]

THIS WAS THE BEGINNING OF A MOVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN DALLAS ISD SCHOOLS.

IN HONOR OF THE OUTSTANDING POSITION OF BEING THE ONLY DALLAS ISD TRUSTEE DISTRICT THAT HAVE NO SCHOOLS RATED BELOW A C, I'M GOING TO CALL EACH ONE OF THE SCHOOLS NAMES.

BUT BEFORE I DO THAT, I WANT TO ALSO MAKE SURE THAT THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS GET THE REWARD THAT THEY SHOULD.

THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS FOR MY AREA IS.

DR. CHERYL WRIGHT.

DR. DEIRDRE HAYES WIGGEMS. DR. DEANNA KELLY.

OUR ED, LISA CURRIE AND DR.

RYAN GIST.

I DO APPRECIATE YOU TREMENDOUSLY.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANKS FOR LETTING ME FOLLOW THAT.

SO I'LL GIVE THE DISTRICT SEVEN REPORT.

FIRST, I WANT TO SHOUT OUT PRINCIPAL TITO SALAS AT JOHN F PEELER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

SOME OF YOU ALL MIGHT HAVE SEEN HE CREATED A BACK TO SCHOOL VIDEO THAT HAS GONE VIRAL AND BECOME A SOCIAL MEDIA SENSATION.

AND PRINCIPAL SALAS HAS BEEN FEATURED ON VARIOUS MEDIA STATIONS FOR THAT.

BUT THAT VIDEO IS MORE THAN JUST A VIDEO.

THAT IS HOW SCHOOL IS A JOHN F.

PEELER SINCE HE'S BEEN THERE. SO CONGRATULATIONS TO HIM AND TO ALL THE OTHER PEELER PIRATES OUT THERE.

NEXT, I'D LIKE TO TAKE A MOMENT TO WELCOME PRINCIPAL SANDRA HERNANDEZ TO BETHUNE ELEMENTARY IN DISTRICT SEVEN, WHERE SHE KICKED OFF HER JOURNEY AS A FIRST YEAR PRINCIPAL.

LAST WEEK, I WAS ABLE TO BE THERE WITH DR.

ELIZALDE TO WELCOME THE KIDS BACK.

IT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BEEN ALREADY SIX MONTHS OF SCHOOL.

EVERYTHING RAN INCREDIBLY SMOOTHLY AND A FUN FACT.

SHE ACTUALLY FOLLOWS IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF HER SISTER, WHO WAS THE PRIOR PRINCIPAL AT BETHUNE ELEMENTARY.

AND FINALLY, I WANT TO GIVE KUDOS TO THE SIXTH DISTRICT SEVEN SCHOOLS WHO RECENTLY EARNED AN A RATING WINNETKA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

MARGARET B, HENDERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

JAMES BOWIE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

ROSEMONT UPPER CAMPUS LASSITER EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL AND TRINITY GARZA EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE TEACHERS AND STUDENTS AND FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS FOR PUTTING IN THE HARD WORK TO ACHIEVE THIS GOAL.

THAT CONCLUDES MY ACCOLADES.

I WILL GIVE THE DISTRICT EIGHT ACCOLADES.

I JUST WANT TO BEGIN BY SAYING HOW PROUD I AM OF ALL DISTRICT EIGHT STUDENTS AND CAMPUSES.

I THINK I HAVEN'T CHECKED OR COUNTED, BUT I WOULD IMAGINE THAT DISTRICT EIGHT IS THE TRUSTEE DISTRICT THAT PERHAPS HAD MORE.

THE MOST CAMPUSES MOVE FROM C TO B IN THE LATEST ACCOUNTABILITY RATINGS.

[00:20:02]

VERY PROUD OF CAMPUSES THROUGHOUT DISTRICT EIGHT.

SUPER PROUD OF THE WORK BEING DONE FOR MOUNT AUBURN ALL THE WAY TO DAVID BURNETT.

VERY PROUD OF THAT.

ONE SCHOOL DEFINITELY ROSE ABOVE THE REST HERE.

AND I WANT TO GIVE A SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS.

CONGRATULATIONS AND SHOUT OUT TO THE DALLAS ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE ACADEMY, THAT IS DESA AND WEST DALLAS FOR EARNING AN OVERALL A GRADE IN THE TA RATINGS.

AGAIN, I MEAN, THAT SCHOOL JUST KEEPS ON DOING GREAT WORK.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. AT DESA GO EAGLES.

I WANT TO RECOGNIZE A TEACHER AT ARCADIA PARK WHO IS REACHING HER 15TH ANNIVERSARY HERE OF TEACHING AT ARCADIA PARK.

SHE TAUGHT THE SCHOOL'S FIRST SPECIALIZED UNIT AND HELPED CREATE A FIRST PRESCHOOL PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES.

THAT IS A TEACHER, MARIA CHAN, FIRST GRADE TEACHER AT ARCADIA PARK.

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO.

WE APPRECIATE YOU.

I ALSO WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE COMMUNITY LEADERS AND NEIGHBORS WHO WELCOME OUR STUDENTS BACK HERE IN THIS MONTH.

WELCOME BACK TO CLASS.

SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO UNITED TO LEARN WHO STOP BY DAVID BURNETT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND OTHER CAMPUSES AND SURPRISED STAFF WITH SNOW CONES. THANK YOU.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT JUST ADD UP AND THEY MEAN A LOT.

QUICK WELCOMES TO A NEW PRINCIPAL AT STEVENS PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN DISTRICT EIGHT, PRINCIPAL OMAR FELICIANO.

WELCOME TO DISTRICT EIGHT.

ALSO TO NEW PRINCIPAL, THE SCHOOL WHERE I ATTENDED, JULIAN ZALDIVAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

AND LAST BUT.

TWO MORE THINGS I WANT TO SAY.

GOOD LUCK AND BEST OF LUCK REALLY TO FIRST YEAR PRINCIPAL COACH OR FIRST YEAR COACH.

I'M SORRY. FIRST, YOUR COACH, CARLOS PEREZ, AS HE OPENS UP THE SEASON HERE THIS FRIDAY WITH THE NORTH DALLAS BULLDOGS.

AND LAST, I WANT TO INVITE THE DISTRICT EIGHT COMMUNITY TO LARRY PINKSTON THIS UPCOMING TUESDAY, AUGUST 30TH AT 530 FOR A MEET GREET WITH OUR NEW SUPERINTENDENT, DR.

WELCOME, DR. ELIZALDE.

I'M HAPPY YOU'RE HERE.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU, TRUSTEE CARREƓN, FOR I DO THE DISTRICT NINE REPORT.

I THINK TRUSTEE JOHNSON WANTED TO ADD SOMETHING TO HIS REPORT AND TRUSTEE FOREMAN WANT TO ADD SOMETHING IN THEIR REPORT, SO GO AHEAD AND THEN I'LL FINISH UP.

I ALSO WANT TO THANK OUR DALLAS ISD FINANCE, OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR ALL THE ASSISTANCE THAT THEY HAVE DONE WITH THE SCHAAKE DALLAS EVENT AND ALSO SHOUT OUT TO CHRIS AND THE SOUND GUYS OF DALLAS ISD.

THEY BOTH YEARS.

YOU GUYS DONE A TREMENDOUS JOB AND I APPRECIATE ALL THE HARD WORK THAT YOU DO AND COME THROUGH EVERY TIME FOR OUR KIDS.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. VERY QUICKLY, I FORGOT ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN THIS DISTRICT TO ME.

I'D LIKE TO THANK BOYD SERVICES, BUT THE PERSON WHO KEEPS ME GROUNDED KEEPS ME DIRECT.

IT BOSSES ME AROUND DELISA PROCTOR.

SHE IS THE BEST AND I COULD NEVER LEAVE HER OUT BECAUSE WITHOUT HER GUIDING AND TELLING ME NO OR TELLING ME YES, I COULDN'T MAKE IT.

THANK YOU TO LISA.

OKAY. GO AHEAD, DOCTOR.

SORRY. SO, YES, THANK YOU.

I DID WANT TO SAY JUST A FEW WORDS, SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST OFFICIAL NIGHT BOARD MEETING WITH DALLAS ISD IN A POSITION OF BEING ABLE TO HUMBLY SERVE OUR COMMUNITY AS SUPERINTENDENT.

I AM BEYOND EXCITED TO BE REJOINING A DISTRICT THAT IS A B RATED DISTRICT.

THAT WORK IS BECAUSE OF EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL IN OUR ENTIRE DISTRICT.

OUR CAFETERIA FOOD SERVICE CUSTODIANS ARE WAREHOUSE FOLKS THAT GET THINGS OUT TO SCHOOLS.

OUR COUNSELORS, OUR PRINCIPALS, OUR SUPPORT STAFF, OUR LIBRARIANS, OUR TEACHERS.

EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL THAT IS WITH OUR DISTRICT, WHETHER YOU'RE DIRECTLY AT A CAMPUS OR NOT, IT ALL COMES TOGETHER BECAUSE WE ALL THE REST OF US EXIST TO SUPPORT CAMPUSES.

STUDENT PERFORMANCE LEVELS ARE AT PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS, THAT IS.

I REALLY MUST COMMEND THE STAFF AND THE STUDENTS FOR THAT HARD WORK, AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT WE ACCOMPLISH NOW.

[00:25:07]

WE DO HAVE WORK TO DO, BUT IT CAN BE DONE AS IT'S BEEN DONE BEFORE.

I'VE SPENT THE LAST FEW WEEKS MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS ACROSS THE CITY AND VISITING SCHOOLS EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY.

AND I AM SO ENCOURAGED BY THE EXCITEMENT AND THE PROGRESS THAT I SEE IN OUR SCHOOLS AND IN OUR CLASSROOMS. WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE THE MOST DEDICATED AND GIFTED TEACHERS WHO ARE HIGHLY COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE AND EQUITY.

I INVITE EVERYONE TO JOIN US AS WE MOVE OUR STUDENTS AND SCHOOLS TO BIGGER AND BETTER FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE.

WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO.

LET'S DO IT TOGETHER.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU, DR.

ELIZALDE. I WILL GIVE THE DISTRICT NINE ACCOLADES.

I CANNOT LET TRUSTEE FOREMAN ACKNOWLEDGE THE LISA WITHOUT ME ACKNOWLEDGING GINA.

SO GINA LOPEZ IS IN THE ROOM, BUT EVERYTHING SHE SAYS THAT LISA DOES FOR HER.

GINA DOES FOR ME. IF YOU EVER SENT ME AN E-MAIL, I DIDN'T RESPOND.

GINA'S PROBABLY THE REASON I RESPONDED.

SO. THANK YOU, GINA.

WHEREVER SHE'S AT.

AND THEN, YOU KNOW, I LOVE THIS PART OF THE MEETING.

IT'S PARTICULARLY TODAY GIVEN THAT THE TAR SCORES CAME OUT AND PEOPLE GET TO BRAG ON THEIR DISTRICTS AND ALL THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

BUT LIKE ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS, WHAT THIS HAS LOOK LIKE FOR ME FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS IS, YOU KNOW, I HAVE A DAUGHTER WHO I TAKE TO HER BUS STOP.

AND AT HER BUS STOP, THERE'S A BUS DRIVER WHO'S ALWAYS THERE ON TIME.

IN FACT, EARLY THE PARENTS LOVED THE BUS DRIVER TAKES CARE OF ALL THE KIDS ON THE BUS.

SHE GETS ON THE BUS, SHE GOES TO A SCHOOL, SHE POPS OUT OF THE SCHOOL, AND THERE'S TEACHERS, EDUCATOR, STAFF.

THEY'RE WAITING FOR HER. SHE GOES AND THEY KEEP HER SAFE.

THEY KEEP HER ENGAGED. THEY KEEP HER ENTHUSED.

SHE LOVES HER SCHOOL.

SHE LOVES HER EDUCATORS.

WHEN WE COME, WHEN WE PICK HER UP, THE SAME EDUCATORS ARE OUT THERE.

THERE'S PEOPLE VOLUNTEERING TO DIRECT BUS BUSSES BECAUSE CARPOOL TRAFFIC IS INTERESTING.

THERE ARE. THERE ARE FOLKS THAT VOLUNTEER TO GET THERE EARLY BECAUSE SOME OF THE BUSSES ARRIVE THERE EARLY.

SO THERE'S PEOPLE, OUR STAFF, OUR EDUCATORS THAT VOLUNTEER OUTSIDE OF THEIR WORK HOURS TO GET THERE EARLY TO WELCOME THESE KIDS IN BECAUSE THE BUS IS DROPPING THEM OFF.

MY SON, I TAKE HIM TO SCHOOL, WE DROP HIM OFF.

PARENTS, STAFF, SAME THING.

PRINCIPALS RIGHT THERE HELPING THE KIDS GET OUT OF THE CAR.

ONE DAY IT WAS POURING DOWN RAIN.

THEY ALL HAD UMBRELLAS.

WALK THE KIDS INTO THE SCHOOL.

SAME THING IT PICK UP.

THERE'S SO MANY PEOPLE THAT TOUCH OUR KIDS ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS.

PHENOMENAL PEOPLE THAT CARE DEEPLY ABOUT OUR KIDS.

SO I LOVE MOMENTS LIKE THIS.

FIRST, BEFORE I BEGIN, MY CLASS WOULD ACKNOWLEDGE ALL THOSE FOLKS, THE BUS DRIVERS, PEOPLE, DR.

ELIZALDE, THE OUTLINE, THE CUSTODIANS, THE STAFF, THE EDUCATORS, PEOPLE THAT ARE VOLUNTEERING OUTSIDE OF THE WORK HOURS SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY JUST CARE ABOUT OUR KIDS.

THEY WANT THEM TO STAY DRY WHEN THEY WALK INTO THE CLASSROOM.

THEY WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY. THEY WANT THEM TO BE SAFE.

AND NOT SITTING OUTSIDE OF A SCHOOL FOR TEN, 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHOOL ACTUALLY OPENED.

SO ONE MORE ACCOLADE WITH THE BUS DRIVERS ON DINO'S TEAM.

YOU KNOW, THE BUS WAS NEVER LATE.

THE KIDS GOT THERE EARLY, WHICH IS BETTER THAN LATE.

SO IT'S BEEN PHENOMENAL.

I THINK THE FIRST TWO WEEKS, THE FIRST TIME I WAS ON THIS BOARD, THE FIRST FEW WEEKS OF SCHOOL FOR BUS DRIVER WAS A MESS.

SO THERE'S A LOT OF GOOD THINGS THAT I'M VERY, VERY PROUD OF TO BE ON THIS BOARD, BUT ALSO TO BE A PARENT AND DEICED.

SO I WANT TO GIVE I MOVE ON TO MY ACCOLADES.

I WANT TO GIVE HIGH APPLAUSE TO EDNA RHODES ELEMENTARY, EXEMPLARY STAFF AND STUDENT BODY.

THE SCHOOL RECENTLY RECEIVED AN ACCOMPLISHED SCHOOL RATING, AND ONE OF THEIR TEACHERS, MS. WEATHERFORD, WAS FEATURED ON NBC DFW, AFTER 100% OF HER STUDENTS REACHED THEIR STAR GROWTH GOALS.

BOOKER T WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS AND PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS RECEIVED A SURPRISE VISIT BY ACTOR JENNIFER HUDSON.

ACTOR AND SINGER JENNIFER HUDSON.

I ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW. I THINK SHE'S THE ONLY ONE TO WIN ALL THE AWARDS.

I FORGOT WHAT IT'S CALLED, BUT SHE'S WON A GRAMMY, SHE'S WON AWARDS FOR ACTING AND BROADWAY, ET CETERA.

BUT SHE WAS ON CAMPUS DURING REHEARSAL OF THE WIZ.

THE YOUNG PERFORMERS WERE DELIGHTED TO HEAR ENCOURAGING WORDS AND PROFESSIONAL ADVICE FROM JENNIFER HUDSON.

THIS HAS BEEN A LONG ROAD HERE, BUT I DEFINITELY WANT TO SEND HUGE ACCOLADES TO BILLY EARLE DAY MIDDLE SCHOOL, LED BY PRINCIPAL STEWART, WHO IS A DAUGHTER OF SUNNY SOUTH DALLAS. THEY MADE PHENOMENAL STRIDES THIS ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR DUE TO HER AND HER WHOLE TEAM'S HARD WORK.

THEIR SCHOOL PERFORMANCE ROSE FROM A D-MINUS RATING TO A B-MINUS RATING, AND I'M SURE THEY'RE NOT GOING TO STOP THERE.

I WANT TO GIVE SPECIAL PRAISE TO THE PARTNERS OF RC BURLESON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR DONATING NEEDED SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO ALL OF OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOLARS.

THE SCHOOL IS GRATEFUL TO RECEIVE NOTEBOOKS, UTENSILS, ERASERS AND MORE FROM THE TEXAS I PROJECT, THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER, FORT WORTH.

I WANT TO THANK BOTH THE STAFF AND NONPROFIT UNITED WAY FOR THE GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW RESOURCE CENTER AT LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL.

AND I WILL BRIEFLY GO THROUGH NOT TO DIMINISH THEIR WORK AND EFFORT, BUT I THINK WE'VE HEARD A LOT ABOUT THE GREAT THINGS OF EDUCATORS AND STAFF AND PRINCIPALS HAVE BEEN DOING IN THE DALLAS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT.

BUT I WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE SCHOOLS IN DISTRICT NINE THAT RECEIVED AN A OR B RATING, STARTING WITH OUR LAURYN HILL, BOOKER T WASHINGTON, BLAIR ELEMENTARY, BURLESON, THE MARTIN

[00:30:06]

LUTHER KING ARTS ACADEMY.

SYLVIA THE NEWLY NAMED SYLVIA MENDEZ ELEMENTARY.

CHARLES RICE CENTER, JACINTO ELEMENTARY, SILBERSTEIN ELEMENTARY URBAN PARK.

I MENTIONED IN THE ROLE PREVIOUSLY IN RUBY GONZALEZ, GUZICK, GALE AND STARKS ALL RECEIVED R&B.

SO AGAIN, I'M VERY PROUD TO BE AFFILIATED IN ANY WAY WITH THIS DISTRICT.

THAT'S BEEN REMARKABLE WORK BY THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN NAMED MANY TIMES DURING THIS MEETING.

SO. I THINK SO.

SEVEN YEARS. AND I HAVE TO SAY THIS, DR.

LASALLE IS REMINDED WE DID A VISIT TO CARMEL.

SHE DID A VISIT AND I TAGGED ALONG.

IF YOU WANT TO SEE AN INSTRUCTIONAL LEADER IN WORK TAGGING ALONG ON ONE OF HER CAMPUS VISITS.

BUT THE CUSTODIAN THERE, BYRON MACK, HAS BEEN IN THE DISTRICT SERVING FOR 27 YEARS, A PHENOMENAL MAN THAT I THOUGHT THE CAMPUS LOOKED GREAT.

SO I'LL CONCLUDE MY DISTRICT NINE AT THAT POINT.

WE'RE GOING TO MOVE ON TO THE PUBLIC FORUM SEGMENT OF OUR MEETING.

[5. PUBLIC FORUM]

WE'RE GOING TO BEGIN WITH SPEAKERS TO THE AGENDA ITEMS FOLLOWED BY SPEAKERS TO THE NON AGENDA ITEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE SPEAKERS THAT YOU HAVE 3 MINUTES TO SPEAK WHEN YOU ARRIVE FOR THE MICROPHONE, PLEASE STATE YOUR NAME.

OUR FIRST SPEAKER IS IRWIN SAUCEDO, FOLLOWED BY CHRISTOPHER DARBY.

BEFORE WE BEGIN, I WANT TO MAKE ONE SMALL STATEMENT THAT WE CAN START.

SO I'M ASKING THE SPEAKERS TO PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF YOUR FELLOW SPEAKERS AND TO REFRAIN FROM USING INDIVIDUALS NAMES TO INCLUDE STUDENTS NAMES AND TO ADDRESS THE BOARD AND NOT INDIVIDUAL TRUSTEES.

COMMENTS INVOLVING THE PERFORMANCE OF AN INDIVIDUAL DISTRICT EMPLOYEE OR OFFICER SHOULD NOT BE MADE TO THE GROUP SHOULD BE MADE TO THE GRIEVANCE POLICY.

AUDIENCE I'M ASKING YOU TO PLEASE NOT ENGAGE IN CONDUCT THAT WILL DISRUPT THE MEETING.

RULES OF ORDER AND DECORUM WILL BE ENFORCED DURING THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD TO ENSURE EFFICIENT MEETINGS, UNLAWFUL DISRUPTIVE CONDUCT, INCLUDING INTERRUPTING SCHEDULED SPEAKERS, SPEAKING OUT OF TURN, CROSSING THE ROPED OFF BARRIERS OR INTERFERING WITH THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

EACH PARTICIPANT IS LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT AND CONSEQUENCES OF HIS OR HER OWN, HIS OR HER OWN STATEMENTS.

SPEAKERS. PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT SUBSTITUTIONS ARE NOT ALLOWED IF YOU SIGNED UP TO SPEAK.

YOU CANNOT SPEAK ON BEHALF OF SOMEONE ELSE.

SPEAKERS WHO FAIL TO ADHERE TO THIS RULE WILL BE INTERRUPTED AND INFORMED.

YOUR COMMENTS ARE OUT OF ORDER, MISS JORDAN.

WE'RE GOOD NOW. THANK YOU. HELLO.

HELLO, EVERYBODY. MY NAME IS IRWIN SALCEDO.

I COME TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF OUR BAND DIRECTOR HERE AT SKYLINE.

SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL, BY THE WAY.

I AM HERE A PART WITH MY BAND STUDENTS HERE, AND WE COME HERE TO TALK ABOUT OUR BAND DIRECTOR.

I'D LIKE TO START OUT BY SAYING THAT WE DON'T KNOW EXACTLY THE SITUATION THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW.

YOU KNOW, WE'VE JUST INFORMED.

WE'VE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT IT'S SOMETHING THAT, YOU KNOW, IS KIND OF IN PRIVATE TERMS RIGHT NOW.

BUT I'D LIKE TO SAY THAT, YOU KNOW, AS IT IS RIGHT NOW WITH THE BAND, WITHOUT MR. WILLIAMS, YOU KNOW, WE COME HERE TO SUPPORT YOU BECAUSE WE NEED YOU, MR. WILLIAMS, AND FOR MR. WILLIAMS NOT TO BE HERE WITH US ANYMORE.

IT'S REALLY SOMETHING THAT IMPACTS US NOT ONLY IN OUR SCHOOL, BUT IN OUR LIFE AS WELL.

YOU KNOW, SOMETHING THAT'S REALLY BIG PRIORITY HERE IS OUR OVERALL WELLNESS.

AND MR. WILLIAMS, HE REALLY HAS HELPED US WITH THAT A LOT.

YOU KNOW, ESPECIALLY US HERE AT THE STUDENTS STAFF.

WE COULD ALL SAY THE SAME THAT, YOU KNOW, IN TERMS OF OUR LIFE, WE'VE GONE THROUGH MANY THINGS.

YOU KNOW, WE'VE SHED BLOOD AND TEARS HERE AT OUR PRACTICE, AT OUR SCHOOL.

YOU KNOW, WE'VE GONE THROUGH MANY THINGS, MANY CIRCUMSTANCES THAT, YOU KNOW, ANYBODY NORMAL COULD JUST QUIT OUT.

BUT MR. WILLIAMS, HE REALLY YOU KNOW, HE HELPED US.

HE HELPED US WHEN WE WERE AT OUR LOWEST AND WHEN WE NEEDED THAT HELP, WHEN WE NEED THE SUPPORT.

SO I'D LIKE TO START OFF SAYING THAT BY THE ADMINISTRATION, YOU KNOW, I'M REALLY NOT SURE WHAT THE SITUATION IS HERE, BUT FOR MR. WILLIAMS, YOU KNOW, WE NEED THIS AS A STUDENTS, AS, YOU KNOW, NOT JUST THE STUDENTS, BUT THE SCHOOL AND OVERALL JUST THE SCHOOL.

YOU KNOW, MR. WILLIAMS HAS THIS REALLY BIG IMPACT ON ALL OF US, AND IT'S REALLY CRUSHING OUR SOULS RIGHT NOW WITH WITH ALL GOING ON AND ALL THIS CONFUSION THAT'S GOING ON.

AND, YOU KNOW, IN TERMS OF ALL THIS ALL THIS CONFUSION THAT'S GOING ON IS REALLY HAS IMPACTED US AND OUR PRIDE AND OUR DISCIPLINE AND OUR MORALS.

YOU KNOW, WHEN WE THINK OF, YOU KNOW, IT'S REALLY IT'S REALLY AFFECTING US IN A LOT OF WAYS THAT, YOU KNOW, PEOPLE DON'T SEE.

AND I JUST WANTED TO STATE THAT OUT THAT, YOU KNOW, WITH EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON, I FEEL LIKE WE NEED A LITTLE BIT MORE SUPPORT.

YOU KNOW, WE ALL COME HERE TODAY TO SUPPORT ABOUT MR. WILLIAMS AND OUR SITUATION THAT'S GOING ON HERE AT SKYLINE.

BUT, YOU KNOW, AT THE END OF THE DAY, THIS IS JUST THIS IS JUST SOMETHING THAT, YOU KNOW, I CAN ONLY SAY TO YOU AND I CAN ONLY SPEAK IN MY EMOTIONS, BUT.

I JUST ASKED FOR HELP.

YOU KNOW, I'M REALLY NOT SURE WHAT'S GOING ON, BUT I REALLY WANT TO ASK FOR THE SUPPORT.

YOU KNOW, WE NEED SUPPORT AS STUDENTS, AS PEOPLE.

YOU KNOW, RESPECT WON'T JUST COME, YOU KNOW, BECAUSE OF AGE.

[00:35:01]

AND THAT'S REALLY KIND OF THE TRUTH OF IT.

BUT WE WANT TO MAKE OUR OUR STATEMENT HERE ABOUT MR. WILLIAMS. AND I THINK THAT US BEING HERE, IT PROVES A POINT.

AND, YOU KNOW, TO MR. WILLIAMS, YOU KNOW, MAN, I CAN'T YOU KNOW, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME HERE TO TALK.

BUT, YOU KNOW, FOR THE THINGS THAT HE HAS DONE FOR US AND THE THINGS THAT HE HAS GIVEN US, THE TOOLS THAT HE HAS GIVEN US, HE REALLY CARES.

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT A PAYCHECK.

HE HELPS US AS PEOPLE, NOT AS STUDENTS.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

CHRISTOPHER DARBY, FOLLOWED BY KAYLEE NEIDHART.

CHRISTOPHER DARBY.

NOT PRESENT.

KELLY NEIDHART FOLLOWED BY TEN YEAR HERNANDEZ.

HELLO. MY NAME IS KELLY NEIDART, AND I'M THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF A DFW ORGANIZATION CALLED PROTECT TEXAS KIDS.

PART OF MY JOB IS TO GO AROUND TO DIFFERENT SCHOOL BOARDS AND JUST KEEP TRACK OF THE DIFFERENT DFW SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND SEE WHAT'S GOING ON AND SEE WHAT IMPROVEMENTS THAT MY ORGANIZATION THINKS SHOULD BE MADE.

SO SOME THINGS THAT I'VE SEEN WITH DALLAS ISD AND SOME THINGS THAT I'VE SPOKEN WITH PARENTS ABOUT.

I HAVE A LIST HERE. SO ONE BIG THING THAT WE'VE SEEN IN THIS DISTRICT IS THE EXPLICIT BOOKS.

THIS IS A NATIONWIDE THING GOING ON RIGHT NOW WITH THESE EXPLICIT BOOKS.

AND I'M TALKING ABOUT THESE BOOKS THAT ARE, YOU KNOW, EXTREMELY INAPPROPRIATE GRAPHIC, NOT NOT THE NECESSARILY LIKE THE STORYLINE, BUT THE WORDS USED IN SOME OF THESE GRAPHIC NOVELS, THE PICTURES THAT THEY INCLUDE.

THEY ARE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS.

AND ONE THING THAT I'VE NOTICED IS THAT ANY TIME I SEE A NEW BOOK THAT'S COME OUT THAT IS CONTROVERSIAL, THAT CONTAINS THESE THINGS, I ALWAYS CHECK DALLAS ISD FIRST BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS IN DALLAS ISD, AND THAT'S A BIG PROBLEM.

ANOTHER THING THAT CONCERNS ME IS ON THE DALLAS ISD WEBSITE, THERE IS A LONG LIST.

THERE'S A SPECIAL PAGE, I THINK ACTUALLY FOR RESOURCES, FOR LGBTQ STUDENTS, FAMILIES AND ALL OF THAT.

AND ONE THING THAT I NOTICE ON THE WEBSITE IS THERE'S DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO GET TO THE GENESIS CLINIC AT UT SOUTHWESTERN MEDICAL CENTER.

IT'S NO LONGER CALLED GENESIS.

IT'S KIND OF REINTEGRATED INTO THE HOSPITAL, BUT THEY MEDICALLY TRANSITIONED MINORS THERE.

SO I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHAT BUSINESS THAT HAS DOING ON THE DALLAS ISD WEBSITE.

ALONG WITH THAT, AT SOME SCHOOLS, TEACHERS AND STAFF HAVE LGBTQ ALLY BADGES.

AGAIN, I'M NOT SURE WHY THAT'S NECESSARY IN SCHOOLS, AND I FIND THAT TO BE VERY INAPPROPRIATE.

ANOTHER CONCERNING THING I FOUND ON THE WEBSITE AND WITHIN THE DISTRICT IS THAT THERE'S A RACIAL EQUITY OFFICE AND THOSE RESOURCES ARE ALSO ONLINE.

AND SOME OF THE RESOURCES INCLUDE READINGS AND VIDEOS FOR TEACHERS, STUDENTS, FAMILIES, ANYONE TO WATCH WITH TITLES LIKE HOW TO DISCUSS THE DEREK CHAUVIN TRIAL WITH STUDENTS.

I HAVE LITERALLY NO IDEA WHAT THAT'S DOING ON THAT WEBSITE, BUT TO ME THAT SEEMS EXTREMELY OUT OF LINE AND INAPPROPRIATE TO BE IN THE DISTRICT ALONG WITH RESOURCES DISCUSSING, DISCUSSING WHITE PRIVILEGE AND CRT, CRITICAL RACE THEORY, EVERYTHING RELATED TO THAT. AND SO THIS IS REALLY JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG WITH WHAT I'VE SEEN ON THE WEBSITE.

WHAT I'VE HEARD FROM PARENTS IN THE DISTRICT AND WHAT I'VE BEEN READING ABOUT THE DISTRICT AND MY ORGANIZATION PLANS ON COMING TO THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS MORE WHERE A NEW ORGANIZATION, BUT WE PLAN ON BEING HERE MORE AND GETTING SOME MORE PARENTS AND FAMILIES INVOLVED TO HELP FIX THESE ISSUES.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

TANYA HERNANDEZ, FOLLOWED BY TRISTAN MAYBIN.

GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS SALLY HERNANDEZ.

I'M A PROUD EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER AND BUILDING LEADER WITH ALLIANCE SAFETY AND A BILINGUAL KINDERGARTEN TEACHER.

AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, MONDAY, THE DFW AREA EXPERIENCED AN EXTREME WEATHER EVENT THAT CAUSED HISTORIC FLOODING.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS CAME SUNDAY EVENING, VERY EARLY MORNING.

MORNING. DALLAS FIRE RESCUE HAD ALREADY RESPONDED TO DOZENS OF HIGH WATER RESCUES DESPITE THE CITY ALERTS OF FLASH FLOODING, WARNINGS OF DANGEROUS ROADS AND PERSISTENT ADVISORIES TO STAY HOME.

SCHOOL WAS STILL IN SESSION.

MANY PARENTS, STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND STAFF TRIED TO MAKE IT TO SCHOOL UNSUCCESSFULLY, DESPITE TRYING DIFFERENT ROUTES BECAUSE OF HIGH WATER ROAD CLOSURES AND SIMPLY A CHAOTIC TRAFFIC SCENE ALL OVER THE DFW AREA AND NEARBY DISTRICT.

MESQUITE ISD ISSUE A ROBOCALL AT 7:30 A.M.

TO ALL PARENTS AND STAFF, LETTING THEM KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE NO PENALTY.

[00:40:03]

PENALTY MEANING BEING MARKED AS ABSENT OR TARDY IF THEY FELT THEIR ROUTE AND ROADS TO SCHOOL WERE NOT SAFE.

MANY TEACHERS AND STAFF IN THE ISD CALLED OUR SCHOOLS TO ASK IF THEY WERE BEING PENALIZED FOR NOT SHOWING UP IN THESE CONDITIONS, AND STAFF MEMBERS HAD TO ANSWER YES PER DISTRICT POLICY.

BECAUSE OF THIS, MANY TEACHERS, PARENTS AND STAFF PUSHED THROUGH TO TRY TO MAKE IT TO SCHOOL, RISKING THEIR LIVES.

AS WE ALL KNOW, A WOMAN IN HER SIXTIES LOST HER LIFE AND A TEACHER WITH A SON TRYING TO MAKE IT TO SCHOOL ESCAPED TRAGEDY WHEN THE FLOODING SUDDENLY SWALLOWED HER CAR IN THE DALLAS SOUTHEAST AREA, LOSING HER MODE OF TRANSPORTATION AS THIS EXTREME, FAST COMING AND UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER EVENTS WILL BE MORE COMMON.

I'M HERE TO ASK RESPECTFULLY TO THIS BOARD AND THE SUPERINTENDENT TO PLEASE REVISE THE.

POLICIES IN THIS REGARD AND MAYBE PUT IN PLACE SOMETHING LIKE MESQUITE HAD IN PLACE WITH THE ROBOCALL THESE STUDENTS I'M SORRY THIS WAY.

STUDENTS, PARENTS, TEACHERS AND STAFF DON'T FEEL PRESSURE TO MAKE IT TO SCHOOL DURING THESE DANGEROUS WEATHER CONDITIONS BECAUSE THEY WILL BE UNREASONABLE. PENALIZED WITH AN ABSENCE OR TARDY.

ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT, BUT SAFETY SHOULD BE PARAMOUNT.

FINALLY, I WOULD LIKE TO COMMEND YOU ALL FOR ALL INITIATIVES RELATING, CELEBRATING, PROTECTING AND SUPPORTING ALL LGBTQ+ FAMILIES AND STUDENTS FOR KEEPING FOR KEEP PUSHING ON INITIATIVES RELATED TO EQUITY AND FOR KEEPING IN PLACE SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING BETTER KNOWN AS SEL, AND GRATEFUL THAT THIS DISTRICT AND THIS BOARD HAS NOT BUDGED TO SOME VOICES LOOKING TO PUSH POLICIES THAT WILL PROMOTE KEEPING HISTORICALLY OPPRESSED MINORITIES MARGINALIZED AND SILENCED.

I HOPE YOU KEEP INFORMED OF THE TRUE EFFECTIVENESS OF THESE INITIATIVES AND KEEP LISTENING TO US, THE COMMUNITIES OF WHAT WE SEE AND LEAVE AS THE BOOTS ON THE GROUND AS TEACHERS OR JOBS IS TO TEACH TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITIES AND TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS, WE NEED TO WELCOME ALL.

THANK YOU, MISS HERNANDEZ.

TIME HAS EXPIRED.

TRISTAN MABON, FOLLOWED BY NAOMI VI.

GOOD AFTERNOON, EVERYBODY.

MY NAME IS TRISTAN MAYBIN, AND I WANT TO THANK THE BOARD FOR ALLOWING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME AND SPEAK TODAY.

I'M A LICENSED FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL AND I WORK WITH DOCTORS, LAWYERS, BUSINESS OWNERS, ENTREPRENEURS, WHAT HAVE YOU.

AND WHAT I DO IS I HELP THEM UNDERSTAND THEIR FINANCIAL GOALS.

AND I PUT IN I PROVIDE SOLUTIONS SO THEY'RE ABLE TO MEET THOSE GOALS AS WELL.

AND IN ADDITION TO THAT, I WORK WITH THE TEXAS EDUCATION RETIREMENT PROGRAM AND I HELP EDUCATORS.

THAT'S BOTH FACULTY AND STAFF TO HELP THEM TO UNDERSTAND THEIR STATE PENSION PLAN BENEFITS AND THEIR RETIREMENT ACCOUNT OPTIONS.

OFTENTIMES, I'VE NOTICED THAT, YOU KNOW, EDUCATORS, THEY NEVER, YOU KNOW, LOGGED INTO THEIR TRUST ACCOUNT BEFORE.

THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND, YOU KNOW, WHAT AGE DID THEY'LL BE ABLE TO RETIRE, YOU KNOW, WHAT THEIR MEMBERSHIP TIER MEANS.

THEY GET CAUGHT UP AND, YOU KNOW, JUST NOT KNOWING WHAT'S WHAT'S THEIR PENSION PLAN BENEFITS ARE ALL ABOUT.

AND SO IN ADDITION TO EXPLAINING THAT TO THEM THOROUGHLY, I HELP THEM TO UNDERSTAND, YOU KNOW, THE RETIREMENT ACCOUNT OPTIONS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO THEM.

OFTENTIMES, THEY THINK THEY ONLY HAVE LIKE THE ONE OPTION.

AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO HELP THEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE WAYS TO NOT ONLY SAVE AND PREPARE FOR RETIREMENT, BUT ALSO BE ABLE TO NOT LOSE ANY MONEY INTO LIKE A VARIABLE ACCOUNT, WHAT HAVE YOU.

BUT I WANT IT TO BE BRIEF.

I, I DID HAVE SOME HANDOUTS AVAILABLE AND YOU KNOW, IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO MEET WITH ME AGAIN, MY NAME IS TRYSTAN MABON AND CERTIFIED REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE TEXAS EDUCATION RETIREMENT PROGRAM, HELPING EDUCATORS UNDERSTAND THEIR BENEFITS AND THEIR RETIREMENT ACCOUNT OPTIONS.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

NAOMI VIE, FOLLOWED BY SARAH ALFARO.

SARAH PHOTO NOT PRESENT.

GEORGE RANGEL FOLLOWED BY ISAAC STEEN.

GOOD EVENING, PRESIDENT HENRY TRUSTEE, SUPERINTENDENT ELIZALDE.

MY NAME IS JORGE RANGEL, THREE, THREE FOURTHS IN DALLAS, TEXAS, 75208.

I'M THE EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AT LINE SAFETY.

I FIRST WANT TO SAY ON BEHALF OF ALLIANCE SAFETY OFFICERS AND EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS, WE EXTEND A BIG WELCOME BACK TO DALLAS ISD, DR.

ELIZALDE. WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU AGAIN.

THERE ARE EMPLOYEE MATTERS WE NEED TO ADDRESS, THOUGH.

[00:45:03]

IT IS OUR EXPERIENCE THAT THE CURRENT SYSTEM TO ADDRESS ISSUES IS NOT WORKING.

WE HOPE WITH YOUR LEADERSHIP WE CAN WORK TOGETHER AND FIND MIDDLE GROUND TO DISCUSS AND ADDRESS STUDENTS AND FACULTY ISSUES.

PROBLEMS THAT GO UNADDRESSED HAVE HUGE EFFECTS ON OUR STUDENT LEARNING AND THE DISTRICT EMPLOYEES MORALE.

SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER SCHOOL YEAR.

OUR HOPE IS THAT YOU ARE LISTENING TO YOUR TO THE PEOPLE THAT ELECTED YOU AND.

THE EMPLOYEES THAT ARE IN CAMPUSES THAT YOU REPRESENT.

THEY ARE WORKING HARD TO MAKE THIS DISTRICT A PREMIER DISTRICT AND THEY WOULD LIKE YOUR SUPPORT WHEN IT COMES TO CHANGES. I THINK EVERYBODY UP THERE AND I THINK ALL THE ADMINISTRATORS THAT HAVE WORKED WITH US FOR HELPING US MOVE THIS DISTRICT A LITTLE BIT FURTHER.

AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU, DR.

ELIZALDE. THANK YOU.

I 16 FOLLOWED BY AJ MASON.

MY NAME IS ISAAC STEEN.

I LIVE IN DALLAS, TEXAS.

I LIVE IN DISTRICT SIX AND.

SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE FOREMAN SOME OF THE RULES THAT THE PRESIDENT LAID OUT FOR US TO FOLLOW.

I DIDN'T HEAR THEM BECAUSE.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU HEARD HIM.

SO I WANT TO SAY TO THE BOYS, YOU ALL NEED TO SPEAK UP BECAUSE I COME TO SPEAK UP AND YOU ALL MUMBLING IN THE MICS.

AND I DIDN'T COME HERE TO MUMBLE.

AND I WILL SAY THIS.

THANK YOU. BECAUSE THAT BOARD CAME TOGETHER TO GET US THROUGH COVID.

AND COVID WAS ONE OF THE WORST FIGHTS THAT I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFETIME EXCEPT FOR RACISM.

NOW, COVID WILL NOT BE ERASED FROM HISTORY, NOR WOULD I SIT BACK AND LET ANYONE ERASE MY HISTORY.

I'M 67 YEARS OLD.

I'VE BEEN DISCRIMINATED SINCE THE TIME I WAS BORN.

MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE CALLED ME A NEGRO.

BEFORE THEN, IT WAS CALLING US OTHER NAMES AND STUFF ON OUR BIRTH CERTIFICATES.

I WOULD NOT SIT BACK AND LET PEOPLE LABEL MY HISTORY AS CRITICAL RACE THEORY.

I'M NOT A CRITICAL RACE PERSON NOW.

THEY DO NOT TEACH CRITICAL RACE THEORY IN DISD.

THEY TEACH HISTORY.

SO WHEN YOU WANT TO LABEL HISTORY, CRITICAL RACE.

SO I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU'RE GOING TO LABEL MY HISTORY.

WHEN I HAD TO EAT IN THE BACK OF THE RESTAURANT AND I HAD TO DRINK OUT OF CERTAIN WATER FOUNTAINS AND WE DIDN'T HAVE MEN AND WOMEN BATHROOMS. WE JUST HAD COLORED.

SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU THINK YOU CAN ERASE THAT AWAY FROM ME.

I GOT THE WOUNDS AND SCARS OF BEING AND RACE RIOTS.

MY FAMILY HAS BEEN DISCRIMINATED.

ALL THEIR LIFE.

I'VE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ALL MY LIFE.

I THANK THE BOARD FOR BRINGING SOMETHING THAT LOOKED LIKE EQUITY TO DISTRICT SIX.

BECAUSE, YOU SEE, WE GOT A C RATING IN ABOVE AND THEY SEE IT'S CRITICAL THAT WE GET MORE MONEY INTO DISTRICT SIX AND OTHER SOUTHERN DISTRICTS.

I THINK PLEASANT GROVE IS BEING LEFT OUT OF THE MONEY WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO THE FIGHT AGAINST CHARTER SCHOOLS AND DIFFERENT THINGS.

SO NO, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ERASE MY HISTORY AS LONG AS I LIVE.

SO YOU CAN CALL ME WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL ME.

AND WHITE PRIVILEGE DOES LIVE ITS LIFE AND WHITE SUPREMACY LIVES.

I DIDN'T COME HERE TO FIGHT THE WHITE RACE.

I COME HERE TO FIGHT FOR EQUALITY.

AND I WILL STAND FOR NOTHING LESS THAN TO BE EQUAL AND BE A MAN LIKE I WAS BORN A BLACK MAN.

I WASN'T BORN IN HALF BREED OR ANYTHING ELSE.

I AM A BLACK MAN AND I'M PROUD OF IT.

THANK YOU. AJ MASON FOLLOWED BY LINDA WYNN.

AJ MASON.

NOT PRESENT. LINDA WYNN.

MY NAME IS AJ MASON AND A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MYSELF.

I RAN FOR STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT 13.

ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I RAN WAS BECAUSE I SAW SOMETHING THAT WAS LACKING IN EDUCATION.

AND I THINK THAT WE ALL REALLY WANT THE SAME THING.

IT'S JUST THAT HOW WE TEND TO GO ABOUT APPROACHING IT AND DOING IT.

I RAN BECAUSE I FELT THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE

[00:50:05]

LITERACY IN DALLAS COUNTY AS WELL AS TARRANT COUNTY, BECAUSE MY DISTRICT WOULD HAVE WOULD COVER BOTH, BUT ALSO.

THE FACT THAT WE HOLD ON TO OPPRESSION.

AND I'M NOT SAYING THAT THERE ISN'T OPPRESSION, BUT I FEEL LIKE TODAY IT'S THE OPPRESSION IS WITHIN THE MIND.

WE'RE AT A TIME NOW WHERE, YES, WE DO HAVE BLACK HISTORY, BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT THE BLACK FUTURE.

THAT'S WHAT I'M FOR. I'M FOR EMPOWERING THE BLACK COMMUNITY, THE THE PEOPLE OF COLOR COMMUNITY, THE WHITE COMMUNITY.

WE'RE ALL WE ALL BLEED THE SAME.

WE ALL BLEED RED.

AND LIKE I SAID, I THINK WE WANT THE SAME THING.

IT'S JUST HOW WE GO ABOUT DOING IT.

SO MY WISH IS THAT WE WOULD FOCUS MORE ON GETTING THESE KIDS GRADUATED WITH A READING LEVEL THAT IS ABOVE THE THIRD GRADE BECAUSE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH HIGH SCHOOLERS THAT ARE GRADUATING THAT AREN'T THAT AREN'T ON THEIR READING LEVEL.

LET'S BRING IN SOME FINDING SOME FINANCIAL LITERACY, TEACHING THEM HOW TO BE ENTREPRENEURS, BUSINESS OWNERS.

YOU KNOW, IF WE FOCUS ON EMPOWERING INSTEAD OF THIS OPPRESSION AND THAT THE OTHER SIDE IS OPPRESSING US, WE'RE NOT GOING TO WE'RE NOT GOING TO SUCCEED.

AND IT STARTS IN THE MIND.

AND UNTIL WE BELIEVE THAT FOR OURSELVES THAT WE ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR.

I'M MORE THAN A CONQUEROR THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, FIRST AND FOREMOST.

AND IT'S IN THE MIND.

THE MIND IS THE BATTLEFIELD.

LET'S CHANGE THE WAY THAT WE THINK.

LET'S START LOOKING MORE INTO THE FUTURE AND EMPOWERING ONE ANOTHER INSTEAD OF ALL THIS DIVISION AND WHO'S OPPRESSING AND WHO'S BEING OPPRESSED.

YES, WE HAVE. YES, OUR HISTORY.

WE HAD SOME CHALLENGES IN OUR HISTORY, BUT IT'S NOT THE SAME THAT IT WAS YESTERDAY.

WE HAVE PROGRESSED, HAVE WE NOT? WE HAVE PROGRESSED.

WE HAVE PROGRESS.

WE HAVE MADE PROGRESSION.

I'M A BLACK WOMAN. I CAN BE A MILLIONAIRE IF I WANT TO.

I DON'T KNOW ANY OTHER COUNTRY THAT I CAN GO TO THAT I CAN START FROM NOTHING AND BECOME A MILLIONAIRE.

IF I PUT MY MIND TO IT.

IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN THAT VICTIM MENTALITY, THAT'S ON YOU.

BUT MY GOAL IS TO EMPOWER THE COMMUNITY.

THANK YOU, MS. MASON.

LINDA WYNN, FOLLOWED BY HELLO.

MY NAME IS LINDA WYNN.

THAT'S W-Y-N-N.

I MOVED TO OAK CLIFF IN 1963.

WE WERE AMONG THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICANS IN [INAUDIBLE].

WE WERE THE FIRST YEAR OF AFRICAN-AMERICANS IN ZUMWALT AND SECOND YEAR OF AFRICAN-AMERICANS IN SOUTH OAK CLIFF.

LET ME TELL YOU, I GRADUATED IN 71.

I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE DOWN HERE FIGHTING THE SAME FIGHT THAT I FOUGHT 40 YEARS AGO.

BUT LET ME TELL YOU WHY I'M HERE TODAY.

YOU TOOK THE $50 OFF THE PAY FOR THE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER.

I'M A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER.

AND I PROMISE YOU, I DO MORE WORK THAN SOME OF THE TEACHERS.

YOU PAYING $60,000 TO, SO YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THAT.

THE SECOND THING IS THAT TOO MANY STUDENTS GETTING ON THE BUS AT STAGG ROAD, WHEN THERE IS NO SEAT FOR THE STUDENT, THEN THE FIGHT BEGINS AND YOU BRING IT INTO MY SCHOOL.

SO I NEED YOU TO PUT ANOTHER STOP AT STAGG ROAD SO THAT IT WOULD ALLEVIATE THIS OVERCROWDING.

THIS. THE SECOND THING IS WE ONLY GOT ONE BUS STOP.

YOU KNOW, THE STUDENTS FROM BUSCHMAN WAS COMING TO PEACE, AND YOU DID NOT GIVE ME ENOUGH STOP TO BRING MY STUDENTS FROM BUSHMEN TO PEACE.

IT'S TIME OUT FOR THIS BSING DOWN HERE AT THE SCHOOL BOARD.

I'VE BEEN DOING THIS SINCE DR.

MARVIN NELSON. I DON'T INTEND TO COME DO IT ANYMORE.

LET ME SAY TO WHOEVER ELSE WAS BRINGING IN THOSE PORTABLES YOU BOUGHT IN TWO PORTABLES THURSDAY AT ELIJAH PEASE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, THEN DECIDED THAT YOU BRING IN TWO MORE.

I HAVE FOUR GREAT GRANDKIDS AT ELIJAH M PEASE AND LET ME TELL YOU ALL TODAY BUT THOSE OF YOU THAT DON'T KNOW ME, I PROMISE YOU GOING TO LEARN WHO I AM.

I'M NOT GOING TO PLAY THIS.

MY GREAT GRANDKIDS MUST HAVE AN ENVIRONMENT THAT'S GOING TO BE FOR THEIR EDUCATION.

THE LAST THING IS MY TEACHERS DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DO THEIR ROOM.

BUT LET ME ASK ABOUT THE MONEY WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET A NEW BARACK OBAMA SCHOOL ON THE LAND WHERE MAYNARD JACKSON WAS.

WHERE IS THE SCHOOL? WE PUT OUR STUDENTS OVER IN A MACEO SMITH.

WE NEEDED A NEW SCHOOL, AND I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THAT BOND MONEY IS.

IT'S TIME OUT FOR SHUCKING AND JIVING.

AND I'M NOT HIM.

AND I'M NOT HIM AND I'M NOT HER, BUT LET ME TELL YOU THIS.

IF I HAVE TO COME DOWN HERE AGAIN, BUT SOME OF THE MESS THAT'S GOING ON THAT WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN 40 YEARS AGO.

THIS IS NOT EVEN SLAVERY.

YOU GOT THE MONEY TO GIVE US WHAT WE NEED IN OAK CLIFF.

LIKE YOU GIVE THE PEOPLE IN NORTH DALLAS WHAT THEY NEED.

SO LET ME JUST TELL YOU THIS.

IF WE HAVE TO GO TO COURT AGAIN, FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE NOT BEEN TO COURT IN THE DALLAS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, GO BACK AND LOOK AT YOUR HISTORY BECAUSE WE WILL GO TO

[00:55:09]

COURT AND I'M NOT GOING TO PLAY THIS AND I WANT EVERYBODY TO KNOW.

CAMILLE, I WON'T BE BACK DOWN HERE.

AND IF I DO, THINGS WON'T BE THE SAME.

THANK YOU. OLA ALLEN, FOLLOWED BY TAMMY BROWN RODRIGUEZ.

OLA ALLEN NOT PRESENT.

ELLA ALLEN.

MISS ALLEN.

SO I'M TAMMY BROWN RODRIQUEZ.

YOU SHOULD CALL ME FIRST. YEAH.

OKAY. SO HERE'S THE THING.

SOME OF YOU KNOW ME WELL.

I'VE BEEN COMING EVERY MONTH FOR OVER A YEAR.

AND THE ISSUE STARTED WITH THE MASKS AND THEN IT MOVED TO THE CONTENT OF THE BOOKS, OF THE INAPPROPRIATE BOOKS WHERE THERE WAS 850 OF THEM.

YOU HAD THE PLEASURE OF LISTENING TO US READ FROM THOSE BOOKS.

JACK OF HEARTS WAS ONE OF THEM.

YOU HAVE TOLD YOUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS THAT THEY DO NOT EXIST IN THE LIBRARIES.

WHEN WE HAVE SCREENSHOTS OF HOW MANY BOOKS SPECIFICALLY ARE AVAILABLE TO OUR CHILDREN.

THE MESSAGING IS GOING TO BE THE SAME.

YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY AGAIN TO DO GREAT THINGS.

WE HAVE A NEW SUPERINTENDENT THAT I'D LIKE TO WELCOME HERE.

YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE GREAT, TO HEAR THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE, THOSE OF US THAT VOTED YOU IN.

NOW IS THE TIME.

I WANT TO SPEAK SPECIFICALLY TO WHAT'S GOING ON AT WHAT THE TEXTS WITH THE NEW CURRICULUM.

WHEN THIS GENTLEMAN SAID HE DOES NOT WANT HIS HISTORY ERASED.

NONE OF US DO, EXCEPT POSSIBLY THE TEXAS BOARD OF EDUCATION, BECAUSE IN THE NEW CURRICULUM, WHAT WE SEE RIGHT NOW BEING PROPOSED IS THEY WANT TO TAKE OUT LINCOLN, ROOSEVELT, REAGAN, TRUMP, KENNEDY, SAMUEL ADAMS, PAUL REVERE, PATRICK HENRY, JIM BOWIE, JAMES BARNUM.

WHY WOULD WE REMOVE HISTORY? ISN'T IT CRITICAL FOR US TO LEARN FROM HISTORY? BECAUSE IF WE DON'T, WE WILL REPEAT THE SAME THING.

BRINGS TO MIND GERMANY, DOESN'T IT? WHAT HAPPENED IN GERMANY? THEY STARTED TO CHANGE THE NARRATIVE OF THE HISTORY, AND SUDDENLY THE JEWS AND THE PEOPLE, THE DESCENDANTS, THOSE THAT DID NOT AGREE WITH THE PEOPLE IN POWER, WERE SLOWLY TURNED INTO THE ENEMY.

WHAT HAPPENED? OVER 5 MILLION JEWS WERE TAKEN TO THE GAS CHAMBER WHILE PEOPLE STOOD BY.

I WILL NOT STAND BY AND ALLOW OUR HISTORY WHETHER IT BE GOOD, BAD OR INDIFFERENT, TO BE ERASED, EDITED, WHITEWASHED, WHATEVER WORD YOU WANT TO USE.

THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE.

HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN WHEN THE VERY PEOPLE WE PAY ARE EDITING OUR HISTORY? THIS ISN'T INSTAGRAM WHERE YOU'VE GOT A COOL FILTER YOU CAN ADD.

THIS IS OUR HISTORY THAT MUST REMAIN PURE.

WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY.

YOU STILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY NOW TO ENSURE THAT THE BOOKS THERE'S 250 BOOKS STILL LEFT IN OUR SYSTEM, THAT YOU HAVE THE POWER, ACCORDING TO TASB, TO ENSURE THOSE BOOKS ARE YANKED FROM THE SHELF.

YOU HAVE THAT POWER.

WHETHER YOU STEP UP AND SEIZE THAT POWER IS REMAIN TO BE SEEN.

AND I ENCOURAGE EVERYBODY HERE TODAY WHO IS SPEAKING.

PLEASE BE SURE TO SUBMIT YOUR CONTENT IN WRITING SO THAT THERE IS A VERIFIABLE, TRACKABLE RECORD.

YOUR TIME HAS EXPIRED.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, OLA ALLEN, FOLLOWED BY MIKE HOOK.

GOOD EVENING.

OLA ALLEN 4111 SUMMIT RIDGE DRIVE.

I BELIEVE PROTOCOL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED.

BOARD MEMBERS, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE HANDOUT THAT I PROVIDED FOR YOU.

THIS HANDOUT CONTAINS BULLYING, DISCRIMINATION, FORMS THE DISLIKE AND A LACK OF FAIRNESS AND INCONSISTENCIES.

WHEN I PROCEED TO ACT AGAINST THIS LETTER, THE PRESENT SUPERINTENDENT HAD RELOCATED TO ANOTHER GEOGRAPHIC REGION, TEXAS.

I DID AN OPEN RECORD REQUEST TO SEE IF THE LETTER WAS FILED AND IF OTHER PARENTS FROM SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL HAD RECEIVED THE CAMPUS ASSESSMENT LETTER.

BUT TO MY DISMAY, A LETTER WASN'T ON FILE OUT OF 4007 HUNDRED STUDENTS, INCLUDING PARENTS.

I WAS THE ONLY PARENT GRANDPARENT WHO RECEIVED THE LETTER.

INCONCEIVABLE. THE LETTER CARRIED A STRONG REFLECTION OF BULLYING, DISCRIMINATORY HATEFULNESS, ASSUMPTION WITHOUT

[01:00:03]

PROOF. I PRESENTED THE LETTER TO THE OUTGOING SUPERINTENDENT AND REQUEST THE MEETING.

HE REFUSED.

DISD IS AN ORGANIZATION THAT DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE AGAINST RACE, GENDER OR OTHER ETHNICITIES.

BUT YET HE REFUSED TO MEET WITH ME.

HOWEVER, THE PRESENT SUPERINTENDENT USE HER AUTHORITY, HER POWER TO COERCE HER SKYLINE PRINCIPAL INTO SIGNING THE LETTER AND ALSO MAKING DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT ME WHEN HE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF MY CHARACTER OR MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SKYLINE OR DISD.

THAT'S A FORM OF BULLYING.

THE LETTER IS EXEMPLIFIED.

OF UNFAIRNESS.

BOARD MEMBERS. I AM HOLDING YOU ACCOUNTABLE FOR NOT TO ALLOW THE PRESENT SUPERINTENDENT TO RETURN WITH HER UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR, LACK OF EQUALITY AND JUSTICE THAT HAS DISPLAY POWER.

BOARD MEMBERS, LOOK IN YOUR REAR MIRROR OF THIS LETTER.

WHAT DO YOU SEE? YOU SEE BULLY, RACIST, MISUSE OF POWER AND MANY OTHER EFFECTIVENESS PARENTS.

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IS MUCH NEEDED FOR DISD, ESPECIALLY OUR BLACK PARENTS.

BUT THE ABOVE TREATMENTS ARE CAUSING MANY OF OUR PARENTS TO TAKE A SECOND LOOK IF THEIR KIDS IF THEY FEEL IF THEIR KIDS NEED TO BE PART OF DISD.

DISD LEADERSHIP, PLEASE BE FOCUSED ON THE MIND OF OUR YOUNG ONES INTEGRITY, HONESTY, STRONG MORAL PRINCIPLE AND FAIRNESS INSTEAD OF DEGRADING THE CHARACTER.

I AM A LITTLE CONFUSED THAT THE CERTIFIED LETTER CAME FROM 9400 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY, BUT IT WAS ABOUT 77 FORNEY ROAD, SKYLINE.

A CERTIFIED LETTER COST THEM $6.80.

THAT'S THE MISAPPROPRIATION OF FUNDS.

YES, I'M A BLACK WOMAN AND YES, I'M A DRUM MAJOR FOR EDUCATION.

BUT JOB 13:15 SAYS, "BUT YET YOU SLAY ME, BUT STILL I RISE." THANK YOU, MS. ALLEN. MIKE HOOK, FOLLOWED BY JANET MARIANI.

I'M HERE TODAY TO ADDRESS THE PROPOSED CURRICULUM THAT THE TEXAS BOARD OF EDUCATION WILL BE VOTING ON THIS TUESDAY.

ARE YOU ALL LISTENING? THE PROPOSED CHANGES WOULD REMOVE YES.

REMOVE LINCOLN.

ROOSEVELT, REAGAN.

TRUMP. KENNEDY.

SAMUEL ADAMS. PAUL REVERE.

PATRICK HENRY.

JIM BOWIE AND JAMES BARNHAM.

LET ME ASK YOU.

WHAT OTHER TIME IN HISTORY HAVE WE WITNESSED A SMALL GROUP STEP IN AND MANIPULATE THE TRUTH IN ORDER TO CREATE A DESIRED OUTCOME? THE MOST WELL KNOWN EXAMPLE I CAN THINK OF IS NAZI GERMANY.

IT WASN'T JUST THE EUROPEAN JEWS.

IT WAS WAS ROMANI PEOPLE, THE INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED DISSIDENTS AND HOMOSEXUALS.

IN FACT, ACCORDING TO MANY HISTORIANS, IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 6 MILLION JEWS AND 5 MILLION OTHERS TARGETED FOR RACIAL, POLITICAL, IDEOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIORAL REASONS. THIS TRAGIC SITUATION DIDN'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT.

IT WAS A SERIES OF SMALL.

STRATEGIC CHANGES THAT EVENTUALLY BECAME ACCEPTED AND ADAPTED AS THE NEW NORMAL.

THE ELITE AND THE GOVERNMENT CONVINCED THE PUBLIC THAT CERTAIN PEOPLE WERE INFERIOR, DISEASED, UNWORTHY.

AND THE THREAT TO THE GREATER GOOD.

THIS MESSAGE WAS DRILLED INTO THE MINDS AND THE HEARTS.

SO OFTEN IT BECAME PUBLIC POLICY THE WORKING CLASS, THE ELITE, THE POOR.

THEY ALL BELIEVED WHAT THEY HEARD AND STOOD BY AND WATCHED AS MILLIONS WERE EXECUTED.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER? HOW IS THIS RELEVANT? IF WE START TO FILTER AND PHOTOSHOP OUR HISTORY, RIGHT? FILTER AND PHOTOSHOP OUR HISTORY.

DELETE FACTUAL EVENTS.

DELETE FACTUAL EVENTS.

HOW DO WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN TO AVOID REPEATING THE TRAGIC MISTAKES THAT WE THAT HAVE BEEN MADE? IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT DISD IS IGNORING PARENTS FEEDBACK REGARDING THE INAPPROPRIATE BOOKS THAT OUR CHILDREN HAVE ACCESS TO AND THAT YOU SUPPORT CHILDREN PICKING THEIR OWN GENDER.

NOW YOU WANT TO CONFUSE CHILDREN EVEN MORE BY DELETING HISTORICALLY ACCURATE FACTS.

I URGE YOU TO ENSURE THAT OUR CHILDREN RECEIVE THE PUBLIC EDUCATION WE RECEIVED.

[01:05:07]

READING, WRITING, ARITHMETIC, SCIENCE AND HISTORY.

NOT A MODIFIED HISTORY THAT FITS YOUR WORLDVIEW, YOUR WORLDVIEW, BUT TRUE FACTUAL HISTORY THAT TRULY ENCAPSULATES RICH, DIVERSE HISTORY THAT FORMED OUR GREAT COUNTRY, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

TO DO ANYTHING LESS IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE.

THANK YOU, MR. HOOK.

JANET MARIANI, FOLLOWED BY DANIEL RODRIGUEZ.

HI, I'M JANET MARIANI AND WELCOME SUPERINTENDENT DR.

STEPHANIE ZALDIVAR.

DID I SAY THAT RIGHT? OKAY. BOOKS THAT ARE BEING TARGETED NATIONWIDE AND IN OUR DISD SCHOOLS FOCUS ON SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTIFICATION, RACE AND RACISM. WHAT IS A GROOMER? WHEN SOMEONE BUILDS A RELATIONSHIP, TRUST AND EMOTIONAL CONNECTION WITH THE CHILD OR YOUNG PERSON SO THEY CAN MANIPULATE, EXPLOIT AND ABUSE THEM.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE GROOMED CAN BE SEXUALLY ABUSED, EXPLOITED OR TRAFFICKED.

ANYBODY CAN BE A GROOMER NO MATTER THEIR AGE, RACE OR GENDER.

A TEACHER. A COACH.

A BOARD MEMBER.

A LIBRARIAN.

A CEO.

ANYONE WHO USES THESE BOOKS AND GENDER IDENTITY LANGUAGE TO TEACH A YOUNG PERSON ABOUT SEX AND ARE EXPLICITLY DISCUSSING THINGS LIKE CHANGING YOUR GENDER FROM A BOY TO A GIRL OR GIRL TO BOY AND CONFUSING YOUR CHILD ABOUT WHO THEY WERE MADE TO BE.

YOU CAN ALL TAKE THE HORMONE BLOCKERS, WHICH ARE PERMANENT.

BUT I CAN WALK AROUND WITH MEN'S CLOTHING AND CUT OFF MY GENITALS AND RESHAPE THEM.

BUT MY DNA WILL STILL SAY I'M A WOMAN.

WE ARE ALL BINARIES.

SO ARE ANIMALS.

WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT IS GROOMING BY TEACHING SEXUALITY TO CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY SIX YEARS TO 12.

TO ME AND TO MANY OTHERS, THAT'S GROOMING.

NEVER BEFORE HAVE WE SEEN AN EXPLOSION IN THE NUMBERS OF CHILDREN QUESTIONING THEIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION.

THIS EXPLOSION IN NUMBERS IS CONFUSING BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING INDOCTRINATED.

IT'S THE INDOCTRINATION.

THAT'S THE PROBLEM.

THAT'S GROOMING.

PARENTS HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

I KNOW FROM WORKING WITH DRUG AND ALCOHOL ISSUES, ENOUGH DRUGS, A PERSON WILL ACT OUT AND DO ANYTHING.

SUICIDE RATES.

HOW ABOUT AFTER PUBERTY? A CHILD'S HORMONES SETTLE DOWN AND THEY REALIZE THE PERMANENT DAMAGE DONE.

NOT ONLY IS THIS ABUSE ON MANY LEVELS, BUT TRULY IRREVERSIBLE.

AND IF AN ADULT WANTS TO LIVE ALTERNATIVE LIFE, SO BE IT.

BUT LEAVE OUR IMPRESSIONABLE, EASILY GULLIBLE CHILDREN ALONE.

PARENTS WILL SUPPORT AND LOVE THEIR CHILDREN THROUGH PHASES THAT MAY JUST TURN OUT TO BE A PHASE.

A SCHOOL NEEDS TO TEACH READING, MATH, WRITING SKILLS AND EDUCATE, NOT INDOCTRINATE.

AS A FORMER SOCIAL WORKER, YES, THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF ISSUES WITH CHILDREN.

BUT TEACHERS, THEY ARE NOT YOUR KIDS.

TALK TO THEIR PARENTS ABOUT ISSUES.

AND IF THAT ISN'T SAFE, THEN THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR, BUT NOT ONE THAT INDOCTRINATE.

OH, DID I SAY GROOM? I QUOTE. THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS AGREES THAT THE VAST MAJORITY OF CHILDREN WHO GET GENDER AFFIRMING CARE SHOULDN'T BE TREATED WITH HORMONES, SHOULD NOT BE TREATED WITH HORMONES AND SURGERY.

AND IN FACT, THE OPPOSITE.

LET'S NOT TURN RETURN TO A SLAVERY.

YOUR TIME IS UP. OUR FINAL SPEAKER IS DANIEL RODRIGUEZ.

DANIEL RODRIGUEZ.

NOT PRESENT.

MR. PRESIDENT, THIS CONCLUDES OUR SPEAKERS.

OKAY. THANK YOU, TRUSTEES.

WE ARE NOW UP TO ITEM SIX OF THE AGENDA ITEM 6.1.

[6. APPROVAL OF MINUTES]

TRUSTEE MARSHALL MY COMPUTER IS NOT WORKING, BUT I VOTE YES.

OK THANK YOU.

IT JUST STARTED. GOOD.

THANK YOU. I'M LOOKING FOR A MAJOR MOTION PASSES SEVEN VOTING YES TO NOT PRESENT TO VOTE TRUSTEES.

YOU HAVE JUST ADOPTED THE MOTION APPROVING THE MINUTES AS SUBMITTED.

WE'RE NOW UP TO ITEM 7.1 OF THE AGENDA.

[7. STATUTORY ITEMS WHICH MAY APPROPRIATELY COME TO THE ATTENTION OF THE BOARD]

CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO NAME THE DISTRICTS 2020 TO 2023.

BOARD REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE COUNCIL OF THE GREAT CITY SCHOOLS.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE DISTRICT'S 2022-2023 BOARD REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE COUNCIL OF GREAT CITY SCHOOLS.

AND I UNDERSTAND THAT PRESIDENT HENRY HAS ASKED TO BE NOMINATED.

DO I HAVE A NOMINATION? I NOMINATE PRESIDENT HENRY.

ARE THERE ANY FURTHER NOMINATIONS WITH NO FURTHER NOMINATIONS? TRUSTEE JUSTIN HENRY WILL BE THE DISTRICT'S REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE COUNCIL OF THE GREAT CITY SCHOOLS.

WE ARE NOW UP TO ITEM 7.0 TO CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO NAME THE DISTRICT'S DELEGATE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 2022 TASB DELEGATE ASSEMBLY.

ASSEMBLY. NOW, JUST BY WAY OF BACKGROUND, I AM THE BOARD REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE TASB SEAT FOR DALLAS ISD.

IN ADDITION TO THAT POSITION, THE POSITION WE ARE NOW CONSIDERING IS A SEPARATE DELEGATE POSITION.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE DISTRICT'S DELEGATE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 2022 TASB DELEGATE ASSEMBLY.

DO I HAVE A NOMINATION? I NOMINATE BEN MACKEY.

I RESPECTFULLY DECLINE, MR. PRESIDENT. I NOMINATE TRUSTEE CAMILLE WHITE.

SECOND, WE HAVE A NOMINATION.

AND A SECOND, ANY FURTHER NOMINATIONS WITH NO OTHER NOMINATIONS.

TRUSTEE CAMILLE WHITE WILL BE THE DELEGATE FOR DALLAS ISD TO THE 2022 TASB ASSEMBLY.

BEG YOUR PARDON, VICE CHAIR.

WE ALSO NEED TWO ALTERNATES.

IS THAT CORRECT? WELL, THERE'S WE'RE ABOUT TO GET TO THAT ITEM 7.03 AND 7.03.

CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO NAME THE DISTRICT'S ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 2022 TASB DELEGATE ASSEMBLY.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE DISTRICT'S ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 2022 TASB DELEGATE ASSEMBLY.

DO I HAVE A NOMINATION? I NOMINATE TRUSTEE JOE CARRION.

ALL RIGHT. WE HAVE A MOTION IN THE SECOND AND FURTHER NOMINATIONS.

ALL RIGHT. I WOULD LIKE TO NOMINATE MR. FLORES. THANK YOU, TRUSTEE.

WHY? I APPRECIATE THAT. BUT I DECLINE.

I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH.

ALL RIGHT. WITH NO OTHER NOMINATIONS, TRUSTEE JOE CARRION WILL SERVE AS THE DISTRICT'S ALTERNATIVE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 2022 TASB DELEGATE ASSEMBLY.

TRUSTEES. WE ARE NOW UP TO ITEM 7.04 OF THE AGENDA.

CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE THE RESOLUTION TO SET THE 2022-2023 MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS TAX RATE AT 0.942900 FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS AND TO SET THE 2022-2023 DEBT SERVICE TAX RATE AT 0.242035 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYMENT OF PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON DEBTS.

THE FOLLOWING ITEM IS SETTING THE TAX RATE.

THIS MOTION WILL NEED TO PASS WITH A TWO THIRDS VOTE, MEANING TWO THIRDS OF THE MEMBERS PRESENT, AND VOTING MUST VOTE IN THE AFFIRMATIVE BEFORE THE MOTION PASSES. DO I HAVE A MOTION TO SET THE TAX RATE TO ADOPT A TAX RATE OF 1.184935, WHICH UNDER THE STATE RULES IS A

[01:15:04]

12.60% INCREASE IN THE TAX RATE.

WAIT A MINUTE. SO I MOVE TO APPROVD, BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT THE PRESENTATION SAID.

I'LL SECOND.

YEAH. IF WE COULD HAVE SOMEONE FROM THE ADMINISTRATION COME UP AND EXPLAIN THE STATE CALCULATION OF WHAT THE TAX RATE CHANGE IS AS OPPOSED TO WHAT.

GO AHEAD. YES, SIR.

THE STATE CALCULATION REFERENCES THE EFFECTIVE TAX RATE, WHICH WAS $1.05.

SO THE TAX RATE, THE VOTER APPROVED TAX RATE, THE $1.18 THAT WE ARE PROPOSING TODAY IS A 12% INCREASE, AS NOTED ON THE LANGUAGE THAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO PRESENT IN THIS FORM FOR THIS CAUSE.

BUT REMEMBER, THE TOTAL TAX RATE, THE TOTAL TAX RATE FOR 2021 WAS $1.24.

WE ARE REDUCING OUR TOTAL TAX RATE DOWN TO $1.18.

SO PLEASE DO NOT BE.

I KNOW IT SOUNDS CONFUSING WHEN YOU READ THAT REQUIRED LANGUAGE FROM THE STATE REGARDING THE EFFECTIVE TAX RATE, AND THAT'S THE CLARITY THAT I WANT TO PROVIDE THERE. THE EFFECTIVE TAX RATE THAT'S CALCULATED ON THE TEMPLATE THAT WE ARE NOT LEVYING BECAUSE OUR TOTAL TAX RATE IS $1.18, WHICH IS $0.06 LOWER THAN WHAT IT WAS LAST YEAR.

ALL RIGHT. TRUSTEE FLORES? MOVE TO APPROVE REDUCING BY $0.06 OUR TAX RATE.

WE HAVE A SECOND, SECOND PENALTY.

ALL RIGHT, ANY ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION? NO FURTHER DISCUSSION.

TRUSTEES, PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTES.

BUT THE MACHINE WILL BE VOTING BY MACHINE.

MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUS.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEES. YOU HAVE JUST ADOPTED ITEM 7.04.

[8. CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS]

THE FOLLOWING AGENDA ITEMS HAVE BEEN PULLED FOR THE FOUR SEPARATE VOTE 8.088.21 AND 8.37, BECAUSE ITEM 8.13 HAS BEEN PULLED FROM THE AGENDA IN ITS ENTIRETY.

TWO I HAVE A MOTION ON THE CONSENT AGENDA AS AMENDED.

POINT OF POINT OF INFORMATION.

MR. PRESIDENT, THERE'S THREE ADDITIONAL ITEMS THAT ARE ON THE AGENDA AS PULLED OFF INCENTIVE.

THEY'VE BEEN ADDED BACK. THANK YOU, TRUSTEE MARSHALL? YES. 8.0 TO 8.05.

8.068.15. SO THOSE FOUR ITEMS ARE BEING ADDED BACK TO THE CARCINOGEN ITEMS. THANK YOU. TERRIFIC. THEN I ENTHUSIASTICALLY MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENSUS SECOND PLUS SECOND BY TRUSTEE JOHNSON TRUSTEES.

THAT'S WHY I SIT THERE AT THE END.

TRUSTEE WHITE. MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUS. THANK YOU, TRUSTEES.

WE'RE GOING TO NOW MOVE THE ITEMS THAT WERE PULLED FOR SEPARATE VOTES.

[9. ITEMS PULLED FOR A SEPARATE VOTE]

SO WE'RE GOING TO START WITH 9.1.

CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO AMEND THE BASE TRADITIONAL INTERSESSION AND SCHOOL DAYS REDESIGN SCHOOL CALENDAR.

THAT WAS BACK. I NEED TO GET BACK.

YOU'RE ON FOR. GIVE ME A SECOND.

THANKS.

WHAT IS AN ITEM 9.0 FOR CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO IMPROVE THE EXPENDITURES OF ESSER FUNDS ON TRAINING PROGRAMS USING VETTED VENDORS APPROVED BY THE TEA FOR USE ON THE DISTRICT'S CAMPUSES, ABLE TO DOCUMENT A CRITICAL NEED FOR SERVICES NOT TO EXCEED $4.8 MILLION THROUGH AUGUST 2024.

GENERAL OPERATING SPECIAL REVENUE FUNDS CAN SET ITEM 8.08, PULLED BY TRUSTEES, FOREMAN AND WHITE MOVED UP TO SECOND.

[01:20:03]

MOTION BY TRUSTEE FLORES.

SECOND. SECOND BY TRUSTEE MARSHALL.

TRUSTEES, IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION? TRUSTEE FOREMAN? YES.

CHIEF HEWITT I GUESS MY GENERAL QUESTION IS, IN FACT, THANK YOU FOR THE ANSWER.

IT WAS MUCH MORE DETAILED THAN I HAD ASKED.

BUT MY GENERAL QUESTION IS THAT WE NORMALLY, IN THIS CASE, USE TO APPROVE VENDORS.

AND I WAS ASKING IF THERE DO WE HAVE TO USE THE TEA APPROVED VENDORS.

THE ONLY REASON THAT YOU KNOW TEA APPROVES VENDORS FOR ALL OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND MOST OF OUR DISTRICTS ARE SMALL DISTRICTS AND WE ARE A LARGE DISTRICT AND SOMETIMES THOSE VENDORS ARE NOT THE ONES THAT CAN SERVE OUR NEEDS.

YES, TRUSTEE FOREMAN WE DO NOT HAVE TO ONLY USE TO APPROVED VENDORS.

AS A MATTER OF FACT, ARE CRITICAL NEEDS.

CAMPUSES HAVE ACCESS TO ALL OF OUR APPROVED VENDORS.

OKAY, SO I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DOCUMENT INDICATES THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TO USE TO APPROVE VENDORS.

AND THEN I WILL BE SATISFIED WITH THAT.

I JUST I DON'T WANT US TO BE STUCK WITH JUST THOSE VENDORS.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE FOREMAN.

AND I DO WANT TO JUST REITERATE, WE WILL ENSURE THAT OUR ESSER DOLLARS AND SPECIFICALLY SERVING OUR CAMPUSES DO NOT RESTRICT TO JUST THIS LIST.

OKAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE FOREMAN.

I DON'T SEE ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS.

TRUSTEE HENRY. PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTES.

I'M KIND OF ALL OVER THE PLACE, BUT I SHOULDN'T.

MOTION PASSES SEVEN VOTING YES, TWO NOT PRESENT TO VOTE.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEES. YOU JUST TO PASS THE AGENDA ITEM 9.04.

NOW ON 9.06, CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE THE BUDGET AMENDMENTS FOR AUGUST 31ST, 2022.

[INAUDIBLE].

IT'S A MOTION TO HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE A MOTION BY FLOOR SECOND BY TRUSTEE MARSHALL TRUSTEES.

THAT DISCUSSION TRUSTEE FOREMAN.

YES.

I THINK THE QUESTION THAT I HAVE AND MAYBE IT WASN'T ANSWERED IN IN THE RESPONSE IS, IS THAT WE'RE SAYING THAT THE INCREASE OF THE THE DECREASE OF THE PHONE BALANCE WAS FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY MEASURES.

IS THAT WHAT WE'RE SEEING? YES. DO WE HAVE AN AMOUNT ON THAT? YES, WE DO.

AND WHAT WOULD THAT BE? IF YOU LOOK ON THE BUDGET AMENDMENT, THE AMOUNT THAT WE HAVE FOR SECURITY OFFICERS IS 650,000.

THE RELATED TRAINING, SECURITY TRAINING, ANOTHER 600,000 SECURITY UNIFORMS, EQUIPMENT AND OTHER SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS THAT WILL BE NECESSARY.

$251,580. THANK YOU.

THAT'S WHAT I NEEDED. THE TRUSTEE FOREMAN TRUST AS WE PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTES.

I'M SORRY. IT'S JUST YOU, I.

I HAVE A QUESTION CONCERNING THE BACKPACKS THAT WERE RECENTLY ACQUIRED.

IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL LINE ITEM FOR ADDITIONAL BACKPACKS? IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO THE BUDGET AMENDMENT, NO, THERE IS NOT A LINE ITEM ON THIS BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR ADDITIONAL BACKPACKS.

THANK YOU. TRUSTEE Y TRUSTEES.

WE PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTES.

MOTION PASSES.

EIGHT VOTING YES.

ONE NOT PRESENT TO VOTE.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE. YOU JUST PASSED THE GYM AT 9.06.

MOVING ON TO 9.07.

CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO AUTHORIZE AND NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH RECOMMENDED RANKED VENDORS FOR PLUMBING SERVICES FOR DISTRICT WIDE USE NOT TO EXCEED $50 MILLION OVER FIVE YEARS, INCLUDING RENEWAL OPTIONS.

GENERAL OPERATING SPECIAL REVENUE BOND FUNDS CONSIDERED ITEM 8.37 PULLED BY TRUSTEES, FOREMAN AND WHITE TO HAVE A MOTION MOVED TO APPROVE SECOND MOTION BY FLOOR, SECOND BY

[01:25:04]

TRUSTEE MARSHALL TRUSTEES.

THEIR DISCUSSION TRUSTEE FOREMAN? YES.

DAVID, I HAVE JUST A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS IN REGARDS TO THIS THIS PROCUREMENT.

SO WE'RE INCREASING AT $15 MILLION OVER FIVE YEARS? YES, MA'AM. AND OUR CURRENT SPEND IS $6 MILLION, AND THAT'S OVER A TWO YEAR PERIOD.

YES, MA'AM. AND I BELIEVE THAT WAS AN INCREASE DUE TO THE WINTER STORM.

SO. SO HAVE WE OVERSPENT THE CURRENT PROCUREMENT AMOUNT BECAUSE THE WINTER STORM HAS BEEN GONE OVER A YEAR? YES, MA'AM. NO, WE CAME TO THE BOARD FOR AN INCREASE DURING THE WINTER STORM AND THEN WE WENT OUT FOR A NEW RFP BOARD.

AND THIS IS THE ONE THAT WE'RE BRINGING TO YOU TODAY.

SO THE CURRENT PROCUREMENT IS ALREADY EXPENDED OUT.

ALL OF THE DOLLARS ALREADY EXPENDED OUT ON THE CURRENT PROCUREMENT? NO, MA'AM. I BELIEVE THERE ARE SOME DOLLARS LEFT ON THAT ON THE ORIGINAL BOARD THAT WILL THAT WILL LAST US DURING THE TIME UNTIL THIS ONE IS IN PLACE, UNTIL MASTER AGREEMENTS GO OUT, AND IT TAKES TYPICALLY AROUND 30 TO 60 DAYS.

SO DO WE KNOW WHAT'S LEFT ON THAT? NOT OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, NO, MA'AM.

I CAN GET THAT FOR YOU, THOUGH.

COULD YOU COULD YOU PLEASE GET THAT FOR ME? YES, MA'AM. BECAUSE I'M REAL CURIOUS.

SURE. IF I'M LOOKING AT ONLY A $6 MILLION SPEND AND THEN WE ADDED ADDITIONAL DOLLARS, EXACTLY WHAT IS LEFT ON THERE, INCLUDING THOSE ADDITIONAL DOLLARS THAT WERE ADDED.

AND THEN WE'VE UPPED THE ANTE TO $15 MILLION FOR THIS NEXT PROCUREMENT.

YES, MA'AM. SO IF YOU COULD GET THAT FOR ME, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE FOREMAN.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? ALL RIGHT, TRUSTEES, WILL YOU PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTES? TRUSTEE FOREMAN. OH, I'M SORRY.

THAT'S OKAY. I'LL LET YOU OFF THE HOOK.

MOTION PASSES SIX VOTING YES, ONE VOTING NO, ONE ABSTAINING AND ONE NOT PRESENT AT VOTE.

POINT OF INQUIRY. MR. PRESIDENT, CAN I MAKE A MOTION TO DOUBLE THE SALARY OF THE SUPERINTENDENT IF SHE CAN END EVERY BOARD MEETING BY 7:30 P.M..

SECOND, SHE CAN'T DO THAT WITHOUT THIS TRUSTEE DECIDING.

SHE DON'T WANT TO ASK WHATEVER.

SO YOU CAN RETRACT THAT NOTION.

THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. YOU DON'T GET OFF.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEES FOR PASSING GETTING OUT OF 9.07.

I'LL SPEAK UP ON THAT.

IT IS 7:28 P.M..

THIS MEETING IS ADJOURNED. THANK YOU.
