WE'LL BEGIN WITH DISTRICT 1 AND MOVE TO DISTRICT 9.

>> THANK YOU, PRESIDENT MACKEY. FIRST, I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT YOUNG RIMASILAS, A THIRD GRADER FROM KRAMER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WHO'S COLLECTING BACKPACKS FOR CHILDREN IN AFRICA.

HIS GOAL IS TO COLLECT 200 BACKPACKS AND HE'S NOW AT A 115.

IF YOU WANT TO HELP THIS YOUNG MAN REACH HIS GOAL, YOU CAN DO SO BY BRINGING A BACKPACK TO KRAMER ELEMENTARY.

IT IS ALWAYS ENCOURAGING TO SEE OUR STUDENTS WORKING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES AND THE WORLD.

CONGRATULATIONS TO WT WHITE'S FOOTBALL TEAM, THEY SET THE SCHOOL SCORING RECORD THIS SEASON AND MADE THE PLAYOFFS TWO YEARS IN A ROW.

SADLY, THEY LOST LAST WEEK IN THE PLAY OFF AGAINST DENTON, BUT WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT THIS TEAM CAN DO IN THE FUTURE.

FINALLY, A BIG SHOT OUT TO THE ROBOWOLVES OF ED WALKER MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR WINNING THE VEX IQ ROBOTICS CHALLENGE EXCELLENCE AWARD AND QUALIFYING FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT.

WE WISH THEM THE BEST OF LUCK IN THE TOURNAMENT AND THAT'S MY REPORT. THANK YOU.

CONGRATULATIONS TO KEYSTONE ELEMENTARY, REINHARDT ELEMENTARY, AND TRUTH ELEMENTARY, WHICH WERE AMONG THE 20 DALLAS ISD SCHOOLS SELECTED FOR A $50,000 INNOVATION AND ENGINE GRANTS TO SUPPORT INNOVATION OF THEIR CAMPUSES.

KUDOS TO THE CONRAD HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMY OF FINANCE SENIORS WHO ARE PARTNERING WITH TRAIN TAX PROFESSIONALS FROM THE DALLAS COMMUNITY TAX CENTERS TO RECEIVE 8-10 WEEKS OF VIRTUAL TAX TRAINING TO BECOME CERTIFIED TAX VOLUNTEERS.

IN THE SPRING, THE CLASS WILL SET UP A TAX CENTER TO COMPLETE FREE TAX RETURNS FOR ELIGIBLE CLASSMATES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

TWO STUDENTS FROM BRYAN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL, DIANA GONZALEZ AND ISABEL HERNANDEZ WERE THE ONLY TWO DALLAS ISD STUDENTS TO COMPETE DURING THE NETWORK FOR TEACHING ENTREPRENEURSHIP FINALS CHALLENGE.

THEY WERE AMONG 33 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM AROUND

THE COUNTRY COMPETING IN THIS ANNUAL CHALLENGE.

>> THANK YOU, PRESIDENT MACKEY. CONGRATULATIONS TO NW HARLLEE EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER, ELISHA M. PEASE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND WHITNEY YOUNG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR EACH HAS BEEN AWARDED 50,000 IN SEED MONEY FROM DALLAS ISD INNOVATION ENGINE GRANTS PROGRAM.

THE FUNDS WILL ENABLE EACH OF THESE NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS TO PURSUE INNOVATIVE IDEAS THAT WILL INCREASE SCHOOL CHOICE IN DISTRICT 5.

KUDOS TO THE CAL RIPKEN SINGER FOUNDATION AND NIAGARA CARE VOLUNTEERS FOR PROVIDING TECHNOLOGY AND FURNITURE TO EQUIP STEAM ALLOWANCE AT SARAH SOWELL MIDDLE SCHOOL AND WHITNEY YOUNG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

THE TOTAL DONATION IS WELL OVER $50,000 AND WE'LL CERTAINLY SUPPORT THE WORK BEING ACCOMPLISHED IN THESE NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS, SO THANK YOU TO THESE GRANT PARTNERS.

SHOUT OUT TO THE SOUTH OAK CLIFF GOLDEN BEARS FOOTBALL TEAM WHO RECENTLY DEFEATED EVERMAN 49 TO 28.

THEY ADVANCE TO THE AREA PLAYOFF AND WILL FACE FRISCO TONIGHT AT 07:30 PM AT ADDISON GLOBE LIFE FIELD, WE EXPECT TO WIN.

ALSO, KUDOS TO THE SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING AND THE SCHOOL FOR THE TALENTED AND GIFTED FOR EARNING THE HIGHEST TEEN POINTS AT THE DISTRICTWIDE ACADEMIC DECATHLON HELD EARLIER THIS YEAR.

ALL PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS WILL NOW ADVANCE IN THE REGIONALS IN JANUARY.

A SPECIAL THANKS TO DR. HINOJOSA AND THE ADMINISTRATION FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE GRANT AND THE STIPEND MONEY GIVEN TO OUR TEACHERS.

ALSO CONGRATS TO LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, WHICH WAS FEATURED AS A STOP ON THE NORTH TEXAS GARDEN NETWORK TOUR.

ALSO I WANT TO GIVE A BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE DADS THAT ATTENDED THE DALLAS ISD ALL PRO DAD SUPERINTENDENT'S DRAFT.

THE EVENT WAS HOSTED AT PRECEDENT HOLLOW IB WORLD SCHOOL AND WAS A HUGE SUCCESS WITH HUNDREDS OF DADS STEPPING UP TO VOLUNTEER FROM ALL OVER THE DISTRICT.

ALSO I WANT TO GIVE A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO HILLCREST VOLLEYBALL PLAYER, IZZY HAYMAN FOR MAKING THE TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL COACHES ASSOCIATION FIRST TEAM ACADEMIC ALL STATE AND TEAMS. WAY TO GO TO IZZY.

ALSO CONGRATS TO MOCKINGBIRD ELEMENTARY WHO RECEIVED A $50,000 INNOVATIVE ENGINE GRANT TO PURSUE INNOVATIVE IDEAS.

CONGRATS TO STUDI WILLIAMS TAG STUDENT BRUNOR MEYER HEMINGWAY, WHO WON THE DISD VETERANS DAY ART CONTEST IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GREATER DALLAS VETERANS FOUNDATION.

THIS YEAR'S FOCUS WAS ON SPECIAL FORCES MILITARY, AND OVER 70 SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED.

I ALSO WANT TO CONGRATULATE SECOND GRADER ELENA NAMBAL WITH MOCKINGBIRD ELEMENTARY FOR WINNING THE SCHOOLS YOUR BOOK COVER ART CONTEST.

GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO WOODROW FUNCTIONAL LIVING SKILLS CLASS AND THEIR TEACHER AMBER DUKE FOR GARNERING COVERAGE FROM FOX 4, FOR TAKING OVER THE WOODROW WILSON PIECE PANTRY TO HELP THEIR HOMELESS STUDENT POPULATION.

LASTLY, I'M PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL AND NORTH DALLAS HIGH SCHOOL ARE TWO OF THE 22 DALLAS ISD SCHOOLS THAT COMPETED IN

THE DISTRICT WIDE ONLINE ACADEMIC DECATHLON MEET, AND ALL THE PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS WILL ADVANCE TO THE REGION COMPETITION SET FOR JANUARY 28TH AND 29TH.

WHAT ARE THE INNOVATION ENGINE GRANT IS SIEGEL HIGH SCHOOL AND IT'S SUITABLE AND NORTH ELEMENTARY, 20 DALLAS ISD NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS EACH RECEIVED $50,000 IN SEED MONEY TO REDESIGN THE TRADITIONAL SCHOOL MODEL AND PURSUE INNOVATIVE IDEAS.

SEGFAULT HIGH-SCHOOL PLANETS IS USED THE GRANT BUILD SUSTAINABLE GARDENS AND SUITABLE NOTE THE LUMINARY PLANS INVEST IN OUTDOOR SCIENCE LEARNING SPACE.

SPRUCE HIGH-SCHOOL, YOUNG WOMAN STEAM ACADEMY, BOX SPRINGS, BUT A SCORE AMONG THE SCHOOLS THAT WILL DISTRIBUTE CURBSIDE MEALS FOR ALL CHILDREN AGES ONE THROUGH 18 DURING THANKSGIVING WEEK FAMILIES CAN VISIT THESE.

WEBAR REPRESENTED THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30TH, 2021, AND THE AUDIT COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED TO THE FULL BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPROVAL OF THAT REPORT.

TWO INTERNAL AUDIT REPORTS WERE ACCEPTED IN MY FINAL IN OPEN SESSION, THE VENDOR MASTER FILE AUDIT AND THE MEDICAID CHARS AUDIT.

THE REPORT HAD A TOTAL OF FIVE OBSERVATIONS WITH RECOMMENDATIONS TO IMPROVE INTERNAL CONTROLS AND AREAS OF PROCUREMENT SERVICES, SCHOOL HEALTH AND RELATED SERVICES WITHIN FINANCIAL SERVICES, AND SPECIAL SERVICES WITHIN TEACHING AND LEARNING.

IN ADDITION, INTERNAL AUDIT PRESENTED RESULTS OF THE STATUS OF THE CONSTRUCTION AUDIT, CMR AUDIT, THE EXTERNAL QUALITY ASSESSMENT WAS ALSO PRESENTED.

THE INTERNAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT, AS YOU KNOW, IS REQUIRED TO HAVE AN EXTERNAL QUALITY ASSESSMENT EVERY FIVE YEARS.

THIS WE JUST RECENTLY COMPLETED THIS QAR AND IT SHOWED INTERNAL AUDIT IS IN GENERAL COMPLIANCE, WHICH IS THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATING, IN ALL 15 AREAS OF THE ATTRIBUTES STANDARDS AND ALL 28 AREAS OF PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND GENERAL COMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE OF ETHICS, WHICH IS AN OUTSTANDING RESULT THAT THE AUDIT GROUP IS VERY PROUD OF.

ALSO THE STATUS OF THE CURRENT YEAR AUDIT PLAN AND SUFFICIENCY OF DEPARTMENT OR RESOURCES WERE REVIEWED.

I REMEMBER 1971, WHEN INTEGRATION HAPPENED, DR. ESTES SHEPHERD IN THIS DISTRICT THROUGH SOME VERY DIFFICULT TIMES WITH TREMENDOUS LEADERSHIP.

I DON'T KNOW, I HEARD A RUMOR THAT HE WAS, WHEN HE FIRST BECAME SUPERINTENDENT AT DALLAS, HE WAS 36 YEARS OLD.

FOR A PERSON OF THAT AGE TO BE ABLE TO TAKE ON SUCH A HUGE ISSUE OF MAGNITUDE AND THEN STAY HERE FOR 10 YEARS WAS NOTHING SHORT OF PHENOMENAL.

WELL, WE HONORED HIM BEFORE.

WE HAD A BUILDING IN OAK CLIFF, THERE USED TO BE A SIGN AT HAIR STORE THAT WE TURNED INTO MULTIPLE TYPES OF BUILDINGS.

THEY WERE BUILDINGS FOR STAFF, LATER BECAME THE PLACE FOR BOOKER T. WASHINGTON PARK, FAVOR A COUPLE OF YEARS UNTIL WE GOT THE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS DISTRICT BUILT OUT.

[BACKGROUND] NOW, THAT FACILITY IS NOT IN GOOD CONDITION.

THE NAME NOLAN ESTES MEANS SO MUCH TO SO MANY PEOPLE THAT WE WANTED TO DO DUE RECOGNITION.

NOW WE'RE GOING TO BUILD THREE SCHOOLS IN DOWNTOWN, DALLAS AND YOU CAN GO FROM PRE-K TO A DOCTOR DEGREE AND NEVER LEAVE DALLAS, DOWNTOWN, DALLAS.

WE'RE GOING TO BE IN CHARGE OF PRE-K TO 12 WITH DOWNTOWN, DALLAS INK.

YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A MONTESSORI SCHOOL THAT IS PRE-K TO EIGHT.

[BACKGROUND] THE [INAUDIBLE] EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE PART OF THE 912 CITY LAB SCHOOL, WHERE YOU CAN BECOME AN ARCHITECT, WILL BE ALSO PART OF THE 912.

IT'S GOING TO BE IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO CITY HALL AND THAT'S GOING TO BE THE START OF THE RENAISSANCE OF SOUTHERN DOWNTOWN, DALLAS.

WHEN I CAME I WAS 38 YEARS OLD.

THAT'S ALL RIGHT. HE'S BEEN ONE OF MY STUDENTS, SO I CAN APPRECIATE THAT.

I THINK ROBERT WAS REALLY GRACIOUS TO HELP US WITH RAISING THE TUTORING AMOUNT.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE DOING SOME TUTORING, THEY'RE ABLE TO MAKE THE $50 AND HOURS UP TO $50 AN HOUR THROUGH USING THE SR TUTORING PROGRAM.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, WHAT THIS IS REALLY HELPING US DO ONCE WE CHANGED HOUSE BILL 45.

45, AND WE HAD TO GO TO ALL THE KIDS WHO HAD NOT TAKEN OR HAD NOT PASSED OUR EXAM AS SUPPOSED TO THOSE KIDS WHO WERE TARGETED.

THE SCALE HAS INCREASED TREMENDOUSLY.
